A Bit O’ Whimsy!

It's Wednesday! So time for another challenge at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog where challenges are always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded from one or more sponsors.  Stop by the blog to check it out! The sponsor this week is All Dressed Up and I used an image from a set named “Summer Sols.”  I used a gatefold card as my base, creating three panels with the separate images of the digi which I colored with Spectrum Noir markers, a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen and a silver gel pen. I found the wonderful scrapbook paper that is patterned after a paint chip with titles that are a perfect fit for the card. The sentiments are computer-generated. (Please disregard the paperclip. I couldn't get the card to stay closed without it!)

Classic Design Team Challenge- #12 December

I’ve always loved the funny characters from Art Impressions stamps, especially because they have so much personality and even have names! This fun lady, named Eunice, is one of my favs. I often pair her with computer-generated sentiments that are a bit snarky. This card is a prime example of that. (I didn't realize that the inside sentiment of the card was so blurry until I posted it. The inside sentiment reads “So have fun making your own cake. Enjoy !”) Since I stamped Eunice on glossy paper, I colored her Tombow Markers. Had fun paper piecing her shirt with gaudy floral paper, then cut an oval shape from scrap paper, masked the image and sponged a bit of yellow ink to really make Eunice stand out!

I am hosting the Monday Challenge at wecraftcards this week where I encouraged participants to make a treat bag topper by decorating a folded piece of cardstock. I made a topper and use it to "dress up" a gift of rose-scented bath salt for my Secret Santa at the office. It features an elegant digi, a freebie from BirdsCards, and a sweet little butterfly. I’m figuring that one of our amazing staff members, Jana, might appreciate taking a few scented soothing baths during this busy season. Am entering this item into several challenges including Outlawz Tuesday Color challenge TicTacToe (top row- lacy label, light aqua butterfly and lots of pink!)
