Craft Room Fun!

Had the day off and had fun creatin’ in my craft room all day. This first card is for the Bugaboo Recipe Challenge (Use Fall Colors and Twine.) I used a Bugaboo digi named Coffee Words Cup. (It's available for just $1 because one of the coffee names is misspelled. I covered it with a paper scrap so none’s the wiser! I wanted to give the card a rustic look, so used the braided card technique along the fold. (You can find instructions HERE.)  The tag on the front is from Lili of the Valley and the inside sentiment is from my scrapbook stash.

The current challenge at Di’s Digis is “Animals Acting Like Humans.” I used one of Di’s images that was a freebie a few months ago from Kit&Clowder on FB.  I colored the sweet trio with Spectrum Noir Coloring System alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. The layout is drawn from the current Sketch N Scrap Challenge. (I planned to use braided ribbon behind the image but didn't like the way it looked. So... make three circles of colored vellum- pink, tan and lavendar. I hope it resembles the sketch close enough. The little sentiment tag, from Lily of the Valley, hangs a little over the edge to symbolize the foliage in the sketch.)  I’m entering the card into several other challenges including the Tuesday TicTacToe Challenge (bottom row-black&white in the image, peach-colored bow, and light blue and peach colors in the image.)

Was fun to make a mini-purse that will be given to one of my staff with a Starbucks gift card and some chocolates tucked inside. I used a tutorial found HERE. The cute little Santa is a retired wood-mount stamp from Hero Arts. The to/from is hand-lettered. I added a little sparkle to the purse with gold paper, a gold heart-shaped brad and cream and gold ribbon. The purse has a Velcro “latch” to hold it closed.

My final item, a rustic pillow box was made with a tutorial/template found HERE. The trees are free hand-sketched with colored pencils, and the to/from are hand-lettered.  This box will be given to another of my staff members and will hold a few treats plus a gift card for a local business where he likes to shop.
