A Peaceful Pair of Cards

I finally found some time to create a few cards for the Double D’s Challenge- 12 Days of Christmas. For the first two weeks, we are focusing on Day 1-6. I was excited to remember that a friend had given me a die that was a perfect fit- a partridge in a pear tree. I decided to use non-traditional colors so that I can enter the card into the Incy Wincy Designs challenge. Added Hero Arts Peace die, a Beccy’s Place Sentiment, and some vellum and bling to finish off the card.  I am entering it into a few additional challenges including Outlawz Thursday Challenge- Optional Twist-Use a Hoarded supply. Photo corners are one of my fav embellishments. I use them alot and have them in dozens of colors.
·    Peace Die- (Hero Arts Stamp and Cut)
·    Partridge in Pear Tree - (free gift from Cardmaking and Papercrafts)
·    Inside sentiment- Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Baby Robin)
·    Music Note Vellum- Hobby Lobby
·    Silver Photo Corners - From my stash

My second card features a wonderful digi from a talented artist and author named Sherry West. Sherry has put her Etsy shop on vacation for a bit but has a very active FB page where she often offers free digis to her followers. That is where I picked up this beautiful dig, which she is offering in a December challenge named, “Christmas Blessings Coloring and Crafting Event.” Sherry is actually offering several freebies during December. (You can join her FB group HERE to download the image and possibly win more of her amazing digis.) I created the background with and upcycled calendar page and circle cut from a purple plastic document folder. (These versatile items come in a pack of assorted colors and can be found in the office supply section of most stores. I really like using them on my cards because they're often cheaper than colored vellum, are more translucent and easy to cut with a nice, sharp pair of scissors.)  Am entering this card into several challenges including Outlawz Tuesday  TicTacToe challenge focusing on the Diagonal  from the upper left to lower right (white lace like her collar, greenery in the center square like on the background and blue fabric in her gown.)

·    Front and inside Sentiments- Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Spring Tulips)
·    Colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen.
