Reflect the Son

For this week's challenge at QKR Stampede I made a card using a Eureka digi image (ES-digi17301- Snow Scene Circle) and a Eureka digi sentiment (ES-digi37302- Be The Moon) that you can find at stamponit.net. I made an easel card base using a template found on Pinterest. [There are many available. I used this one- craftrabbit.com/DownloadStore/CraftItem/2348/easel-card-instructions] I cut a rectangle of snowflake patterned paper to fit the front of the easel card and printed the snow scene image on white cardstock, sizing it to fit the easel card. I cut the snow scene circle, using a circle die to cut it to fit the easel front card then colored the sky and water on the image with various shades of blue Spectrum Noir markers, attempting to match the blues in the background paper. Edged the snowflake circle with a gray marker and added the appearance of a slight haze around the moon and also it's reflection on the water with a white gel pen. Used the easel card instructions to attach the inside brace. The final touch was to position and attach the sentiment. [Which I love!]

This entry for Beccy's Place Sixth Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge inspired by the letter "M" is Merry Christmas. The adorable rocking horse image on the front of the card is a freebie from Beccy's Place [find it here beccysplace.blogspot.com/2011/08/rocking-horse.html] Sentiments are both from Beccy's Place digi sets, "Tied Up With String" [front] and  "Sugar and Spice"[inside.] The final addition to the card was to add a few of my favorite puffy heart stickers [available for less than a buck from WalMart. I snatch up a few packs whenever I see them... as that space is often empty. Am thinking that others might have a puffy heart addiction, too.]

Had fun developing this card to enter into the Bugaboo challenge named "Something Yummy." This fun Bugaboo image, named "JJ Thanksgiving" fits into the challenge perfectly. Although not everyone might think that a Turkey is yummy, there are so many other entrées in a Thanksgiving meal that definitely fit into that category including candied sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, buttery mashed potatoes with gravy, creamed corn and… um…  I'd better to stop listing these foods or I'll be drooling on my laptop!
I colored JJ with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, the used the current Saturday Sketch as my guide in assembling the card. The Thanksgiving subway art is a freebie from a new site I just discovered. It has lots of wonderful images, backgrounds and much more. [Here is the link to this image- celebratingholidays.com/Pictures/thanksgiving/thanksgivingsubwayfinal.pdf] The cute little fall leaves were attached to a few decorated photo corners from my stash of scrapbooking supplies. I was able to easily remove them to use as embellies. Am entering this into a few other challenges including Simon Says Monday [Thanksgiving], and Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge [Recipe: 1 image 2 pattern papers and 3 embellishments.]  The  inside sentiment is a freebie from TLC Creations (createwithtlc.blogspot.com)
