In November, Beccy's Place is celebrating the Fifth Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge. I hope to be able to complete many of the daily challenges, which will follow the alphabet plus a few extras thrown in. My goal this year is to place an entry for every challenge using only Beccy's images. I have many of her wonderful digi sets, plus there are MANY freebies on the Beccy's Place blog, so it is a real possibility. My second entry into the Month of Cards challenge is to be inspired by the letter "B." This sweet card should qualify as it features one of Beccy's freebies, an adorable little bear named Miss Penelope [find her here- beccysplace.blogspot.com/2009/11/printable-1_21.html] I like the look of colored image on kraft cardstock. I also liked paper piecing with holiday colored papers to add a festive touch.

I find I use digi images about 90% of the time. So was fun to dig out an old SU border set to make this mitten tag for the Monday Challenge at wecraftcards. But since I seldom use tags, I decided to attach it to the front of a card atop a strip of patterned paper.

This is the final card I made for the wecraftcards Crop. The Saturday challenge was to create a card that features a reverse image and also includes dots. I recently made a Scottie silhouette for a card and decided to make a few more of the little cuties for this challenge. Was easy to flip one by simply flipping my template in the opposite direction. Attached them to a card on which I'd stamped paw prints with an old SU stamp [the little toes are the dots] and added computer generated sentiments.

I love that bear printed on kraft. I might have to try that myself. I hope you don't mind. I like how you show the inside of each of your cards too. Most times I don't finish the inside until I need to send it. All of the cards are terrific.
ReplyDeleteYour "B" card is fabulous Kathy, the little bear looks great on the kraft card stock. I love the paper piecing and fussy cutting, you've done a wonderful job of adding depth.
ReplyDeleteThe mitten stamp is great and makes an awesome tag. Great idea to use it as a card topper, although it would look equally fabulous attached to a nicely wrapped gift.
Your double dog dare you card is funny! The little Scotties are very cute with their plaid kerchiefs and shaggy fur. I also like the way you stamped all the paw prints everywhere. Cute!
Cheers,
Beccy
All great cards, but I do love the little bear and her patterned cape, too cute. Thanks for joining us at CHNC Patterned Paper Challenge this month.
ReplyDeleteLovely cards. Thank you for joining the challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge. Hope to see you again next time.
