Once again, the Twofers Challenge made me think outside of the box. This time instead of using stamps, I used a foliage die from My Daily Bread to make a Christmas card and summer birthday card. For the Christmas card, I was inspired by a video [www.simonsaysstampblog.com/blog/doodling-debby-die-cut-winter-wreath] to make a wreath card made with a branch die and assorted snowflake punches. The "Merry" die is from Stampin' Up and the inside sentiment is from a Power Poppy digi set named "Autumn Opulence." The base of the card is an A6 sized card in rich white cardstock that has a silvery sheen. I glued a few snowflakes on this base, then attached a later of vellum to serve as the base for the wreath. This layer of vellum allowed the white snowflakes and silver branches in the wreath to really stand out.
For the birthday card, I used the branch die to make coral on the underwater theme card. The cute fish and little snorkeler are from an Embossing Arts stamp named "Snorkeling Happy Hannah." I created a waves stencil from an old laminated brochure and sponged blue waves onto a postcard sized piece of white cardstock. Added a strip of cloud patterned paper for the sky and tore tan parchment paper into strips to make the sandy bottom. After attaching the "coral" and the stamped and colored images, I made the water with a piece of a blue plastic document folder. [I use these almost as often as vellum… which I use a lot. You can find them in office supply stores. They come in a pack of assorted colors, are easy to fussy-cut with a nice, sharp pair of scissors and are translucent like colored vellum.] The Birthday Blessings and Thinking of You sentiments are both from Decosses Dynamite Doodles [decossesdynamitedoodles.blogspot.com]

I love all the Thanksgiving challenges popping up now that Halloween is past. For this card, I stamped a Denami wood mount leaf image onto a mossy brown A2 sized card front with gold pigment ink. While that was drying, I used the gold pigment ink and an old Hero Arts wood mount to stamp the fall foliage to the front of a mossy green A2 sized card. I added gold embossing powder and let my heat gun do its magic! I was going to color the four images but decided that I liked the simplicity of the simple embossed images. Finished the card with sentiments from Power Poppy's digi set named "Autumn Opulence."

The current weekly Creative Confetti challenge at Power Poppy is called "Just Color." And… the requirement is to grab your favorite coloring medium and color some images. I had printed off a bunch of images from Beccy's Place for her wonderful "Month of Holiday Cards Challenge" and colored them with my prefered medium- Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and white gel pen. Took a photo of my colored images before I fuse them on cards. [Actually, they are not quite ready as I need to blend the highlighted areas on the robin a bit and do some trimming… but they do prove that I've been busy coloring!] Don't you just love the personalities on the members of the snowman family? It's a freebie from Beccy's Place named "Family Reunion ." [You can download a copy here -beccysplace.blogspot.com/2011/11/family-reunion.html]

You have given us a great array of delightful cards in this post, Kathy! I will concentrate on the Twofer ones, which I think are really well thought out and extremely detailed! You did an amazing job using that die to create your beautiful wreath on your Christmas card. I love the elegance of the silver and white and that pretty bow! Your birthday card using the same die to make underwater coral is simply adorable! I love your sky and sea and that cute little scuba diver and jumping fish! Thanks for the tip on the plastic document covers from office supply stores! And thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #11! Hugs, Darnell
