Craft Room Fun

I had so much fun spending time over Thanksgiving in my craft room. Got lots of cards made that I'll be posting this week. Here are the first three.

This entry for Beccy's Place Sixth Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge inspired by the letter "V" is Vellum. I created the background with several strips of brown and tan, topped by a quarter sheet of candy cane vellum that is backed by a square of white [ that the candy cans is more visible.]
The gingerbread cutie is from Beccy's Place digi set "Sugar and Spice."  He was so fun to color because he just exudes personality. [I couldn't resist the comment about the Pillsbury Dough Boy as I just want to poke this little tummy, too.] The sentiments are computer generated.

The SumMore Fun challenge theme for November is "All Dressed Up." I created this card using one of their digis named "Ballerina Slippers" from the set "On Pointe", #10317-X. [It is available free at this link-victorineoriginals.com/products/on-pointe-10317-x, click on the Style box and a drop down will appear for the free digi stamp] I used a grey and pink color scheme in order to also enter the card into the current challenge at Calling All Sistahs. The sentiments are both from a Beccy's Place set named "True Beauty."

I used a beautiful image from Ching-Chou Kuik's line of digital stamps [www.etsy.com/listing/219254993] named "So Long Yesterday" to make another card for the current Butterfly Challenge that focuses on the Letter J. My card includes two colors- Jazzberry Jam and jade, plus one theme- Joint [sections on the Z-fold of the card. You can find the card template there- papercraftinspirationsmagazine.co.uk/category/how-to/z-fold-card.htmI like using images with butterflies on sympathy cards because to me they represent new life. I also wanted to have one butterfly look like it was flying up to heaven, so I mounted it on a thin strip of acetate to work as an invisible support brace. [You can see that in the closeup photo.] The sentiments are both freebies from Papercraft Magazine. ["Sympathy"- papercraftsmag.com/content_downloads/Heartfelt_Sympathy_Melinda.jpg and "Memory becomes a treasure" papercraftsmag.com/content_downloads/When-someone-you-love.jpg]
PS- Special thanks to a new friend, Melinda, who gifted me with a certificate for three Ching-Chou Kuik images. You'll be seeing more of them showing up here in the near future, like maybe even later tonight!

  1. Great job on the colouring Kathy, the gifts in the gingerbread man's arms and particularly nice... love the colours! The candy cane vellum was a fabulous choice for the "V" prompt, good thinking.
