Beautiful Trio

This entry for Beccy's Place Sixth Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge inspired by the letter "I" is Icicles. Image/sentiment on the card front is from a Beccy's Place digi set "Tied Up With String." Inside sentiment is hand lettered. [I did add a ". . ." to the sentiment on the front so that the inside sentiment makes sense.] The line of icicles are a set of clear border stickers from my scrapbooking stash and the sparkly cellophane shards on the icicles are called "Magic Scraps." They have been hiding out in my stash for a while. I think I found them in the discount bin at Michaels a while ago?

Have had this idea in my head for a few days and finally put it to paper. The hope die is from CAS-usual Fridays. [This mini-die is just $3.99 and 50% of the price is donated to breast cancer research. You can find it here- cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/products/hope-fri-die] I sketched the ribbon onto frosty pink vellum and added a bit of shading with a fine-line black Sharpie marker and grey  Spectrum Noir markers. The wonderful butterfly paper was part of a prize packet that I won at a Crafty Hazelnut’s Patterned Paper Challenge a while ago [Thanks, Hazel!] I fussy-cut one of the delicate little butterflies and glued it atop the pink ribbon, thinking it symbolizes hope and freedom [a perfect match for the courage that I see in several dear friends and family members who are courageously taking a cancer diagnosis head on.  They are my SHEros!] Finished the tag with a scrap of sheer black ribbon.

I offered to make baby announcements for a friend at my church. Gave her a few options from which to choose and she selected this one which includes a place for the baby picture to be attached. The announcement info will be printed off and attached to the back of the card. So fun and not too hard to make. The little duck and bear are stamped images [unsure of the company. Removed them from the wood mount a few years ago.] The little wood  bus is a sticker, and the baby bottle was made with a scrap of vellum. Note- I can't give you the link to the template because I'm not able to access Pinterest right now. [Hope it's just a maintenance issue and not a problem with my account. Ackkk.] If you google "Side-Step Baby Dresser Card" and then click on "Images" you'll find lots of designs and templates.

  1. The icicles hanging on your first card are awesome Kathy, what a fabulous embellishment. They look so cold and frosty!
Your HOPE card is wonderful. The delicate butterflies are a lovely touch, particularly the one you fussy cut and adhered to the pink ribbon. I like the way you've layered the transparency over the sentiment too.
The baby announcement card is fabulous, I can totally understand why your friend chose it. The little toys poking out of the cupboard are super sweet and I like the bottle and bus too. Great idea to have a place for a photo... what an awesome project.
    Cheers,
