Beautiful Nativity

This entry for Beccy's Place Sixth Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge inspired by the letter "N" is Nativity.  Created a tri-fold card with a peek-a-boo window on the front. Recently picked up the beautiful vellum at a recent Hobby Lobby grand opening event in a nearby town [Finally!] that I used as a backdrop for the Holy Family. Also used one of Beccy's freebies named "Medallion"  on the front of the card to add an elegant frame for the window [find it here- beccysplace.blogspot.com/2013/04/medallion-freebie.html] The "Happy Birthday Jesus" sentiment is computer generated, and the "Silent Night Holy Night" sentiment is from Beccy's Place digi set names "Baby Robin." Finished the card with some lovely sheer ribbon. Entering the card into several other Christmas challenges including "If You Give A Crafter A Cookie" [the medallion image reflects the frosted swirls on the Christmas cookies] and Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge [I hope this pretty vellum counts as patterned paper?]

Taking a break from Christmas and Thanksgiving cards to make one for the challenge at Double D's named "Wishes are Possible." Pulled out my Penny Black Fairy Sweet Clear Stamp Set, which is so cute. Made the card really girly with lace and ribbon. Added a mini-sentiment "Wish" tag from Lili of the Valley to the front of the card, and a sentiment is from a free digi set at Tiddly Inks named "Willow the Greeting Fairy." The monthly challenge at Little Scraps of Heaven (LSOH) is to create a Thanksgiving or Snowman card. I used the cute image "Bear Holding Ornament" that was a weekly Freebie this past July. I turned the card into a snowman card by swapping out the ornament with a large snowball.  In truth, the snowman still has "Some Assembly Required", but the little bear has the hat, carrot nose and eyes ready when needed. I also gave the little bear a scarf that he can then put on the snowman. The background was stamped with an Embossing Arts tree stamp and several colors of pastel inks. The sentiment is a freebie from TLC (createwithtlc.blogspot.com) Also, all LSOH images are on sale for $1 right now, which is 50-75% off. [Check it out here- www.littlescrapsofheavendesigns.com]
