Beary Special

For this week's challenge at QKR Stampede I cute card using a Eureka digi image (ES-digi7954-bear balloon) and a Eureka digi sentiment (ES-digi20202-Beary Special) that you can find on stamponit.net. I printed the bear image on white cardstock, resizing it to just include a portion of the image on the card [being able to change the size of images is one of the reasons I've grown to love using them. I just need to find a better way to file them for later use as I currently have piles of them on my workspace.] The image is colored with chalks to create a soft, slightly fluffy, look. I like the way the dotted background paper adds a playful feeling to the card, plus it enables me to enter the card into the current Bugaboo color challenge. The sentiment on the card front is computer generated. For the inside of the card, I dug out some cute bear stickers that I'd used on a snack bag topper a few weeks ago. They added a bit of whimsy to the sentiment.

I've had this wood mount hydrangea stamp from Posh Impressions since the late 90's. Haven't used it for a while but pulled it out to make an explosion card for this weeks challenge at wecraftcards. I haven't made an explosion card for a while either but should make them more often because they are pretty easy to make and always have a big wow factor. [There are many tutorials on Pinterest. This is my fav- www.craftsy.com/paper-crafts/article/explosion-card-tutorialThe thank you stamp is from Hero Arts, the others are from Stampin' Up but all are long retired.

I while ago there was a "card candy" exchange at wecraftcards Forum. One of the talented creators crafted this wonderful embellie, a tag with a dressmakers form. I "dressed it up" [cute pun, right?] with baby blue paper, ribbon and a few strips of antique lace from my sweet mom's stash. The sentiments are computer generated. The scissors was a freebie image from the Graphic Fairy [thegraphicsfairy.com] that I printed on white cardstock and fussy cut.  One of my personal challenges is to decorate the inside of a card to match the front. I don't do it all of the time, but way more than I used to, so am including it here, too.

When going through my stash of embellishments, I found this this wonderful little dragonfly tag. He just begged me to spotlight him on a card for the Simon Says Monday challenge called "Take Flight." So, I punched circles in assorted colors and sizes, plus added a few scraps of ribbon with a bit 'o bling. Easy Peasy.
