Christmas in July- Day 4

The new blogger is doing weird formatting that I cannot fix no matter how hard I try.  So please forgive any spaces or other oddities. It isn't me!!

I can’t believe that we are already over have way through this year’s Bugaboo “Christmas in July” celebration.  Here is my entry for Day 4: BINGO, using the center row as my guide (Sparkle-red glitter on Rudolph's nose, Bugaboo image, and Sentiment). I used two Bugaboo images, cropping the one on the front because I wanted an “I love Christmas” theme vs. an ‘I love you” theme. The Twist and Pop creative fold is one that I’ve used a few times, but it always takes me some time to remember how to put it together. (Tutorials to the rescue!) When I was finished, the inside of the card looked a bit blah, so I dug through my stash and found a wonderful vintage holly postcard (which I actually inherited from my dear Mom’s stash). I trimmed it down to fit the top flap of the inside and like that it adds a bit more “Christmas” to the card. Since I usually like to have the inside of the card match the front, I trimmed some of the holly and ivy from the notecard scraps and adhered them to edge the front of the card. (While doing this, I could hear my Mom’s voice in my head praising me for not wasting any of the precious scraps!)
I’m entering this card into several other challenges including NBUS-Never Before Used Schtuff! (I’ve had the lovely double-sided paper [red pattern on one side and B&W herringbone on the other] for at least 5 years  since I found a pack of it for under a buck in a discount bin years ago)  and vintage holly notecard (which I’ve had in MY stash since my mother went to her heavenly mansion over 8 years ago. I miss her most when I am in my craft room. She was a great  stamping buddy!)

A Perfect Time to Craft 2020-Anything Goes- July Challenge #7-2020

The theme for challenges at wecraftcards Forum this month is “Song Titles” and this week’s challenge is “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas.” I wanted my card to resemble a blizzard With the help of some snowflake dies and wonderful background image, I think I nailed that! But also wanted to add a bit of Christmas colors, so I tucked a sweet little snowboarding elf helping Santa deliver gifts.
I’m entering this card into several other challenges including The Paper Shelter (This little elf’s profession is usually making gifts. Here is also gets to deliver them!)

One of my favorite challenges is called the Snippets Challenge. It encourages the use of all the little scraps of paper that might otherwise be (gasp) thrown away! The current Di’s Digi challenge also focuses on using scraps… so I got to work.
For this card, I wanted to make a card for a friend's little daughter who loves playing dress up and remembered this purse template I received at a make&take session at a Minneapolis MN convention a few decades ago. (My memory isn't THAT good. I saw it when cleaning my files a few weeks ago.) I created the purse card base with white cardstock, then dug into my scrap boxes (ahem… box and folders!) to find some papers to decorate the little purse. Of course, they had to include pink… and I loved the pink and lime green options that jumped out at me. I fussy-cut one of the dots from the larger scrap to create a “clasp” for the purse flap, and then added a puffy heart sticker to top off the clasp! A sweet little ballerina, printed to fit the needed size (one of the reasons I like using digis is that you can print them whatever size you need) and finished with lots of pink coloring and sparkles finishes the card front. For the inside, I added a fun surprise making an lipstick exclamation point, “dotted” with a bright pink “lipstick” doodle. So fun!
