Snow & Daisies

I’ve been lovin’ all the Christmas in July challenges and wanted to make a few more cards before turning to Back to School themes and Fall colors. This card, with a snowy background made from an upcycled calendar page, features a wonderful digi and sentiment from Jan’s Digi Stamps. It makes me think of childhood Christmas celebrations with several sets of grandparents, lots of aunts and uncles, dozens of cousins, and presents galore! I loved the monochromatic background and decided to carry that over in my coloring of the digi. So, its mainly grey and white with shouts of color in the greenery and bright packages. The final touches were to decorate the card front, and inside sentiment with the sparkly of glittery greenery stickers.
Supplies:
·   Digi and Front Sentiment- Jans Digi Stamps digital set (Over the River)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, Sakura Gelly Roll white & silver gel pens
·   Inside Sentiment- “Celebrate the Season” Beccy’s Place digital Set (Christmas Cardinals)
·   Sentiments- Computer Generated
·   Assorted cardstock, background papers and an upcycled calendar page from my stash
·   Sparkly Christmas Greenery Stickers- Hobby Lobby

Slim cards are all the rage right now, so I sized this digi to fit a regular sized envelope, and colored it in rich, Victorian colors. I layered the colored trio atop a scrap of light grey geometric paper and royal blue cardstock. The final sparkly touch was to add a few whimsical snowflakes to frame the card front and the inside sentiment.
Supplies:
·   Digi- All Dressed Up (Christmas Penguins)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Inside Sentiment- “Celebrate the Season” Beccy’s Place digital Set (Christmas Cardinals)
·   Assorted cardstock and background paper from my stash
·   Sparkly Snowflake Stickers- Hobby Lobby

I’ve always loved Gerber Daisies (even more than roses!) so I was thrilled to see that freebie at Patties Creations this month is a beautiful Gerber Daisy. I decided to create a background with rows of the flowers, adding larger daisies that I’d fussy-cut and then adhered to white circles. Light grey shading plus shouts of bright yellow were added to the card with strips of vellum,  alcohol markers, and a splattering of holographic gold sequins. I love the bright and fresh feeling of the finished card!
Supplies:
·   Digi- Patties Creations July 2020 Freebie (Gerber Daisy)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Front Sentiment- Desert Diva (Sending you Sunshine)
·   Inside Sentiment- Desert Diva (Happy Birthday to a Very Special Friend)
·   Assorted cardstock, holographic gold sequins and yellow vellum from my stash
