Christmas in July- Day 2

I love Christmas in July challenges and Bugaboo does a great job with both themes and prizes. Here is my entry for Day 2- A Sketch Challenge. I used a sweet Bugaboo digi, Christmas paper, and sentiments from Lili of the Valley and We Are Three.  Vellum, Flower Soft, and a bit of bling adds some texture to the card.

 Supplies:
·   Digi- Bugaboo (Candy Cane Stocking)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Front sentiment- “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” Lili of the Valley Digital Set (Christmas Wishes)
·   Inside Sentiment -  We Are 3 Christmas Sentiments can be found HERE.
·   Polar White Flower Soft- (From my stash. Am not sure where you can purchase this anymore. It is hard to find!)
·   Assorted background papers from my stash

I found this wonderful free pineapple digi, printed it onto vellum, layered it atop green and light tan paper scraps, and added some color and shading with markers and highlights with a white gel pen. To create a tropical feeling I added patterned paper that resembles a pineapple, travel tags, and hibiscus blooms. The inside sentiment is also a freebie. I don’t know the source of the front sentiment ( I currently have over 6000 digital images on my laptop. Some are within the 445 folders of digi sets so I cannot just pull them up by title. I know that this sentiment is hidden in one of those sets as I did print it off to make this card. And… I need to find it again because I really like it. So, when I do, I'll add the source here. In the meantime, if any of you recognize this sentiment and can tell me it's source, please let me know.)
I'm entering this card into several challenges including Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge (The definition of the word Fancy is “elaborate in structure or decoration.” I think this card fits that definition especially with the addition of sequins.)
Supplies:
·   Digi- Pineapple freebie from HERE
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Front Sentiment “Celebrate”- source unknown
·   Inside Sentiment- Desert Diva (Sweet Birthday Wishes)
·   Hibiscus blooms and foliage fussy-cut from patterned paper
·   Assorted background papers, vellum, travel tags and sequins from my stash

I wanted to make one more card for the Monday Simon Says challenge was named “Early Birds” with this cute little birdie, named Wilson, from a Beccy’s Place digital set. 7. Your first card is wonderfully festive Kathy, I love the image and your beautiful colouring. I also like the way you've layered the vellum over the fabulous tartan paper.
Your next card makes me long for the return of summer. We grow pineapples here in Queensland and I always think of home when I see one. The hibiscus flowers are a wonderful addition and definitely bring an extra tropical vibe to your card.
Love the last card in your post Kathy, particularly the little tail feather you added! That's cute! The sentiment is fabulous and works perfectly with the image.
    Cheers,
    Beccy
