Celebrate!

Last year I met a talented young artist named Sherry West via her FB page. The images she creates are adorable, so I was thrilled to win a few of them through contests on her FB page HERE. She also has an  Etsy shop HERE and is making a name for herself as an author. Her first children’s book, named “It’s Raining Cats Dogs and Pollywogs,” quickly sold out the first run on Amazon after its release. The sweet digi on this card is named Celebrate, and I had fun coloring the little cutie and adding some sparkle to the sparklers! (When I was young, using sparklers was one of my favorite parts of celebrating the holiday. Plus, I love how she is standing, demonstrating the safe way to hold a sparker. Can you tell that my mom was a nurse? Dad was like a little boy on the 4th, he went all out buying fireworks… so Mom made sure we had rules when shooting them off. She must have done a good job, because not one of six kiddos was ever injured! Yay Mom!)

I had fun using a Scribbles Designs digi with the cute named “Let it Snowmen” to enter their current Challenge named “Flip a Coin.” This was a fun challenge that required five flips of a coin, designating specific tasks for each flip (head or tail.) I developed my card using based on my five flips 1) card has three layers, 2) rectangular card, 3) followed a tutorial to make the Shadowbox fold, 4) used glittery stickers, and 5) used snowflake paper from my stash.

My final card this post was developed for the Monday Simon Says Challenge, “Take Me For a Ride.” Taking a ride in a hot air balloon is on my bucket list… so it was fun to make this card from a digi I won from Polkadoodles a short time ago. I was going to make a graduation card, but when I found the freebie sentiment from a new place I discovered named Gingers Place, I felt it was the perfect fit for this image. Right now there are so many friends who are struggling with COVID related issues so I know that this sentiment will be an encouragement to one of them!
