I’m going to be posting lots of holiday cards over the next few days… because it’s time for Christmas in July challenges! This first one features a sweet coffee cup digi, bright polka-dotted paper, and a few strips of paper doilies I’ve had in my stash since the late 90s.

I love penguins, and this sweet little guy, named Finn, all decked out in his jingly holiday best makes me giggle! A free sheet of music, of course, Jingle Bells, provides a great backdrop. And I opted for non-traditional Christmas colors, because Finn looks great in magenta!
An added note- "Jingle Bells" is one of my favorite Christmas songs because it is one of the first songs I remember from my childhood. My dad repaired player pianos, so we had one in our home and often would gather around it for holidays to do "sing-alongs." One person would pump the foot pedals, and the others would gather around them as all would sing, following the words printed on the rolls, if needed. I do remember that singing loudly happened more often then singing on tune. But it was always fun! If you've never seen/heard a player piano. I found one playing Jingle Bells on Youtube HERE

One of my favorite things about Christmas is the wonderful fragrances of the season- the scent of Christmas greenery, mulled wine, hot chocolate, gingerbread and especially the buttery goodness of Krumkake, Sandbakkles, and other Norwegian baked goods (which are just one of the reasons that I married my sweet hubby nearly 50 years ago. And, if I'm being honest, about 50 pounds ago, too! (I do love that Norwegian Christmas traditions include so many yummy options!)

·   Front Sentiment “Sweet Holiday Wishes” from a Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Christmas Cheers) (Sadly, Beccy recently closed her digi shop.)
