I was excited to see that the new Time Out
challenge has the theme, Travel! I love all things related to travel, including
sightseeing (especially beaches and national parks), spending time with friends
or family, and especially flying (For nearly 20 years I was a member of a
national training team for educators and I loved flying all over the USA, and
meeting people for many cultures.) So I got busy creating cards for this
challenge that I’ll be posting in the coming week. This is the first!
A snarky character named “Stella” from
Bugaboo Stamps was a favorite. This Stella digi came with a snarky sentiment
that has a ring of truth for me. This card also shows one of the many reasons
that I enjoy using digi images- I was able to reduce the size of Stella's face
to fit on her passport! After printing, trimming, coloring, and adhering the “photo”
in place, Stella’s passport was ready for use!

Supplies:
·
Instructions for Z-fold card base can be found HERE. (Note- I made the front panel a bit thinner than instructed so that,
when closed, the passport peeked out from the inside.)
·
Digi and Inside sentiment- Bugaboo Stamps (Stella Calendar August-passport photo) Sadly, company is no longer in business
·
Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique
markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·
Passport stamps, patterned paper, and Passport book are from my stampbook
stash (Source unknown, I’ve had them for a decade or two.)
·

·
All other misc. items and tools from my stash.

I had fun making this
card using a cute little ant digi, all decked out to enjoy some picnic treats! Scraps
of glossy paper, in shades of pink and green, plus a permanent black marker to
add “seeds,” helped me create this wedge of yummy Watermelon. I had downloaded
some Basket cupcake wrappers earlier this year for Easter, and they became my
picnic basket. I just trimmed one to size and draped the end of a checked
napkin over it. A few sentiments and a pair of bees help to complete the card.
Easy Peasy!

I’m getting low on birthday cards, so I'm
working on rectifying that problem. This fun digi is sure to delight a
cat-loving friend! Compared to the number of layers/items that I regularly use
on my card, this one went together really quickly.

Such fun cards! Thanks for joining us at the Not 2 Shabby Monthly Challenge!
ReplyDeleteKathy, all the cards are great, but first I have to comment on Stella. She's a hoot! I love how you were able to put her picture on her passport. Adorable! And the card that you entered over at Word Art Wednesday's challenge is so nice too. You've used so many details. Perfect for summer! (I'm actually at my desk right now eating a bowl of watermelon and I must say I love those seeds!.) Thanks so much for playing along with us at Word Art Wednesday. We love seeing what you're up to! :)
