This month’s Sheepski Designs FB Challenge theme is “Cuties”
and I had fun creating with Andreas’ adorable gnome digi named “Wildflower.” I used a simple fun fold, computer-generated sentiments and paired the cutie with a vintage image of Forget-me-knots to create a lovely
card for a sweet friend.
PS Stop by the Sheepski blog to learn more about the monthly
challenges and have a chance to win some wonderful digis created by artist
Andrea Norris! Supplies:

My
card for last month’s Sheepski Designs FB challenge featured one of my favorite
of Andrea’s digis, a Chameleon digi
named, appropriately “Camouflage.” (You can find that post HERE.) The card took little coloring, just some highlights and shading of the candies, plus, I did add a feeling of reptile scales across the cuties back with a white colored pencil. (I darkened one of the pics to better show the scaly effect.) I had fun making this card for my
youngest sister, Judi. However, she has a finely-tuned sense of snark, so this
card seems a little too mild for her.
So, I’ll turn it into a humorous birthday card, since dear Judi
turns 60+ in a few months. I’ll swap out the sentiment on the front of the card
with a computer-generated one
that says “Ummm…
Happy 60-something?!”
and decorate the inside with a few wayward skittles and this sentiment, “Let’s
just say the thought of you being so old confuses me more than a chameleon in a
bag of Skittles!”

My mom liked
all kinds of needlework, but especially enjoyed embroidery. I saved some of her
old needlework magazines and loved creating these 12 Days of Christmas tags
using photos of small tree ornaments from one of them. Added to scraps of
paper, ribbon, lace, and metallic thread from my stash, I made a package of
vintage-looking gift tags!
A recent challenge at wecraftcards inspired
this set. A friend noted that she and a bestie have shared handmade Advent
gifts for several years. She invited us to start a similar tradition ourselves
by creating a package of 12 Days of Christmas Tags to give to a friend this
Christmas. Since I’m still recovering from major surgery, I wasn't sure I'd get
time to play along... until my hubby asked if I wanted to binge-watch old NCIS
episodes yesterday. I plan to send the collection to my nieces since I know
that they will love that these little photos came from one of their great-grandma’s craft books!
I’m entering this card into several
other challenges including Incy Wincy Designs (my tags speak of love, and the holiday itself
embodies the greatest gift of love ever offered!), and Simon Says
Wednesday Challenge- For a
Child (one of my nieces, who now has kiddos, lets them decorate a tree of their own. I think this tags would love that place of
honor!) Supplies:
· Patterned
paper- Hobby Lobby (Parchment sheet music with “On the first day of Christmas…”
lyrics printed in faded ink.)
· All
items from my stash (plus remnants of my mom’s stash that I inherited years
ago!)
