myasperations 2-2-22

It's time for another challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge Blog where challenges are always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded from one or more sponsors.  Stop by the blog to check it out!

For this challenge, my DT card features a beautiful digi from Sheepski Designs named Christmas Post Box. I had fun creating a collage card, adding a  beautiful Christmas postcard background graphic, upcycled postage stamps, patterned paper, cardstock, and textured snow (compliments of a wonderful embellishment named Flower Soft!)

Supplies:

·   Digi- Sheepski Designs (Christmas Post Box)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Christmas Foliage Postcard- from freevintagedigistamps (find it HERE)

·   Snow on all surfaces-Flower Soft Polar White you can find HERE

·   Front Sentiment- Desert Diva Freebie (hello!)

·   Inside Sentiment- “Thinking of You At Christmas” from a Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Christmas Cardinals)

·   Upcycled postage stamps, cardstock, patterned paper, and all other items from my stash.

Beccy’s Place Challenge- February
Since I’m a Contributor for Beccy’s Place, I’m entering just for fun!

This card is my first entry into the Butterfly Challenge, which is one of my favorite challenges!  Each challenge offers several themes that we can use as our guide, plus a specific creative fold that we can use if desired.  The current challenge is to create a Collar Fold Card and sponsor, Mrs. A, provides easy-to-follow instructions.  My card includes all four of the colors (Coral, Celadon, Cornflower, Cardinal) and the required butterfly! (The vellum layer was first cut into a circle, to fit the theme, but I wanted more of the pretty patterned background to show through, so I opted for an oval. I do love using vellum to help the key feature, in this case the butterfly and friend, stand out!)
I’m entering it in several other challenges including Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge (used the required blue, plus peach and pink from the inspiration  photo. Twist is the butterfly!), Outlaws Saturday “Send Some Sunshine” (everything about this card makes me think of spring and sunshine!)  and All Dressed Up FB Challenge (my card, especially the inside sentiment, reflects romance!)
Supplies:
·   Digi- All Dressed Up (Flyaway Butterfly)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Inside Sentiment- “You make my heart sing” (unknown source- if you recognize it, please let me know!).

·   Collage Patterned paper from a box of A2 cards with white envelopes- Hobby Lobby

·   Gold photo corners available from several web sources (WXJ13 Photo Mounting Corners)

·   Vellum, oval template, and other items from my stash.

  4. You have really done a fantastic job with the Christmas Post Box image Kathy, it's gorgeous! I love all that gorgeous, textured snow and the wonderful, vibrant colours. I'm always impressed by how beautifully you finish the inside of your cards as well, the postage stamps on this one are a wonderful addition.
Your second card is very sweet, the image is lovely and you've done a wonderful job with the colouring. I like how vellum looks on cards too, I think it softens hard lines and intense colours. Beautiful work.
    Cheers,
    Beccy

  5. Fabulous cards, both these! Love that Christmas Post Box card with all the little extras you've added, especially the postage stamps. I, too, like to recycle and that's a great idea.
Your second card is adorable. Such a sweet image which you've coloured beautifully. The vellum is a nice touch, adds some softness to the card.

  9. Beautiful colouring of the pretty girl image. I like you idea of using the vellum to create a spotlight too. Thankyou for coming and playing in the butterfly garden with me. no butterflies at present but the squirrels are having fun and we have had a frog taking a leisurely swim across the pond so spring is beginning to stir. Hugs Mrs A.
