It's time for another challenge at Penny's
Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog where challenges are
always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded from one or more sponsors.
Stop by the blog to check it out!
For
this challenge, my DT card features a sweet digi from Paper Nest Dolls named
Valentine Owen. I like to make gatefold cards when I want a card to have a little
extra pow, and they are also so easy to make! Open the gatefold to find Owen’s
little friend perched inside with his very personalized (or should I say puppyalized?!)
greeting. So fun!
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Passion for Markers “Favorite Colors”(I've always liked combining brown/tan and blue. But I really l like the addition of red and pink on this card, too. And just like that, I have a new favorite color combo!)
Supplies:
· Gate Fold Instructions found Here or Here (YouTube)
· Digi- Paper Nest Dolls (Valentine Owen)
· Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura
Gelly Roll white gel pen
·
Puffy Heart Sticker- Stickos
·
Front Sentiment- Freebie from Desert Diva (Will You Be My Valentine?)
·
Inside Sentiment- Freebie from Desert Diva (Woof You)
· Patterned paper,
cardstock, and other items from my stash.

I just had to create another card that features Owen’s pup as the star
of his own card! To help the little guy stand out from the bold polka dot
background, I used a heart template and metallic silver cardstock to create a
frame, which I lined with a scrap of a dark grey plastic index divider sheet.
(These are sometimes called document file folders,
which come in a pack of assorted colors and can be found in the office supply
section of most stores. They're cheaper than colored vellum and more
translucent. Punches and dies don’t work on these sheets, but they are easy to
fussy-cut with a sharp pair of scissors.) I especially like the way you can see
the polka dots from the background paper peeking through the smoky plastic. Sentiments, photo corners, and one sparkly red
sticker finish off the fun card which I sent to my dog-loving sister!
Supplies:
· Digi- Paper Nest Dolls (Valentine Owen)

Gelly Roll white gel pen

Inside Sentiment “Happy Valentine’s Day”- Hero Arts (retired)
· Sparkly Heart Stickers- Hobby Lobby
· Pioneer Black Photo corners- available from
several sources
· Heart template from my scrapbook stash
· Patterned paper, metallic
silver cardstock and scrap of plastic file folder from my stash.
