Labor Day 2020

I wanted to enter a card into the current Art Impressions Challenge named “To Die For” so went through my AI collection and found this wonderful stamp/die/sentiment set named “Winter Window.”  The card was a little tedious to make… with it’s three “levels” but if you follow my blog, you’ll know that I kinda like tedious! So… I got to work and this sweet card is the result. So fun!
I’m entering this card into several other challenges including Simon Says Wednesday Challenge’s “Stamp It in STAMPtember®” (requires the use of a clear stamp) and Christmas Crafts All Year Round’s “Use at Least 2 Things starting with S” (my card includes shutters on the window), sashes (on the curtains), and a Star (tree topper.)

Supplies:
·   Clear stamps, dies and inside sentiment- Art Impressions Set (Winter Window)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Assorted background papers from my stash

I recently won a challenge at Cute As A Button, and this is one of the digis I selected. I love the sweet little elf helping promote Christmas spirit! I wanted to enter the card into the current challenge at “Wecraftcards” that requires a glittering ornament. I swapped out the large jingle bell in the digi with a circle-punched ornament. The inside sentiment is a freebie from Love SVG with a heart embellie made from a glitter paper scrap.
I’m entering this card into several other challenges including Do-Al[l] Kreatives’ “Inspired by a Song” (the name of the digi is “Deck the Halls” and I must admit that song was running through my head as I made this fun card.)

Supplies:
·   Digi- Cute As A Button (Deck the Halls)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Inside Sentiment- Love SVG Freebie (All Hearts Come Home for Christmas)
·   Circle punch (to make ornament) from my stash
·   Red glitter paper, assorted cardstock/background papers, cord & ribbon from my stash
·   Upcycled silver liner from coffee container (to create ornament top and loop) and metallic green paper from gift bag (stripe on ornament)

I wanted to enter the current Outlawz Saturday Challenge named “Fruit.” I remembered making a card with a free template from Whimsie Doodles many years ago and pulled that out to create this simple apple shape card. Sadly, the Whimsie Doodles shop closed down a few years ago, so the template is no longer available. It is a pretty simple design so perhaps you can use the photo of my card to develop a pattern? I created the apple stem with a rolled scrap of a brown lunch bag (it is not as heavy as cardstock so rolls easily.) I taped this step to the top front of the card and covered the tape with leaves and a small tag. The leaves were made with an old (might I even say prehistoric?!), seldom-used tool called a corrugator. To create the patterns in the leaf, just fold a scrap of green paper in half, and put in through the corrugator, fold first, at an angle (see photo.) When finished, cut the folded paper into a leaf shape. (Note- unfold it before you do this to make sure that the veins in the leaf go in the right direction. Guess how I learned the importance of this step? Let’s just say that the sample leaf in my picture with the corrugator  started out much larger!)

 Supplies:
·   Apple Template- Whimsie Doodles Freebie (the company is no longer in business)
·   Tag Sentiment “Thanks”- Hand-written on black cardstock with a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Inside Sentiment- Computer Generated
·   Assorted cardstock from my stash
·   Corrugator and scrap of string- from my stash
