Critters Galore

It’s the 15th of the month so I’ve made a DT card for the challenge at QKR Stampede. Stop by the challenge, which is always “Anything Goes” and several prizes are awarded. Maybe you’ll be inspired to enter a card or two yourself?
Seems like I’m needing lots of baby cards this summer/fall, and this one was so fun to make. I once saw a card with the large BABY  background. Am thinking it was made with a die, but I had to improvise and create my own template. (Which I provided for you!)  The adorable baby elephant is from the Eureka Stamp image named “Baby Animals.” I pasted the image onto a Word document and cropped off just the giraffe and zebra, then could print out just the little Elly! A little coloring and fussy-cutting and he was ready to perch on the card front. Added a sentiment adorned with a few puffy heart stickers and Voilà … done!
I’m entering this in several challenges including Incy Wincy Designs- Girls, Girls, Girls (this card was made for a friend who recently had a baby girl.)

Supplies:
·   Digi- Eureka Stamps (Baby Animals) Also available in unmounted or cling mounted
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Front Sentiment “Welcome” from Sparkle N Sprinkle Birdhouse Friends (company out of business)
·   BABY Lettering Template- developed by moi!
·   Puffy Heart Stickers- Sticko’s from WalMart (The pack contains 113 assorted puffy hearts for just 99 cents!)

Since it’s mid-month, I’m also decided to share a DT card for the September Sheepski Designs FB Challenge. This month’s theme is “For the Kidz” and I just had to use one of artist/owner Andrea’s new digi’s named Vlad and Mia. Andrea always creates amazing digis with her cute little gnomes. This time, she actually made bats cute, too! (About 40 years ago I spent a terrifying few hours in my hubby’s childhood home as a bat circled and swooped above me. I was alone in the rural farmhouse at the time and I’ve had a major aversion to bats ever since. Vlad and Mia helped to reduce the “scary” memory so much that I could even create with them!) I used a large square card base, attached a section from an upcycled calendar, muted the background a bit with a scrap of vellum (so it doesn’t overpower the colored image), and added a few more pops of color with bright orange photo corners. (I used these little gems so often that I decided to share a few details. The set I like includes an assortment of 13 sheets of 13 different colors- including metallics. I found then at Amazon but when I googled the label in my supplies list below, several options appeared. For me, they are well worth the price… which is actually pretty cheap for all the color options.)
I’m entering this in several challenges including Cute Card Thursday’s No Patterned Paper (am hoping an upcycled calendar picture doesn’t count as patterned paper) and Bugaboo Stamps-Down on the Farm (my first encounter with bats was in a farmhouse. We later discovered that there was a whole extended family of bats living in the attic. It took an exterminator to “un-invite” them!)

Supplies:
·   Digi- Sheepski Designs (Vlad and Mia)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Sentiments- Computer Generated
·   Assorted cardstock, vellum and photo corners from my stash
·   Upcycled calendar page
·   Colored photo corners (WXJ13 13 Sheets 13 Colors Photo Mounting Corners)

The wecraftcards challenge named Alice In Wonderland requires that entries reflect the song “A World of My Own” from the animated movie "Alice in Wonderland." One of the lyrics mentions rabbits and cats in houses and clothes.  So I dug through my stamps and digis and found this funny, and very stern, cat in clothes.  I also found the hilariously truthful sentiment and the card just fell together!
I’m entering this in several challenges including Outlawz Sketch Challenge (I flipped in on the side and moved it higher up on the card) and the Outlawz Sunday Challenge that featured a rhyme named Cats Sleep Anywhere by Eleanor Farjeon (I think that the challenge allows a card that pictures any cat… maybe even a snarky looking one!)

Supplies:
·   Digi- Create with TLC Freebie (Stern Cat in Clothes)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Inside Sentiment- Create with TLC Freebie (no longer available)
·   Assorted background papers from my stash
