Penny's Place Week 3

Had fun making my third card as a Design Team member at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge Blog using a digi named "Too Good to Eat" from All Dressed Up.  (You can find it here- www.etsy.com/shop/alldressedupstamps)  I made the background with snippets of pretty pastel paper using instructions I found on Pinterest (stampinpretty.com/2016/01/strips-of-love-blossoms-valentine-card.html) Colored the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. Added a scrap of pink vellum and little puffy heart stickers just for fun. I upcycled the sentiment on the front from an old greeting card. The sentiment on the inside is computer generated. Stop by pennyschallenges.blogspot.com to be inspired by the cards made by other DTs and learn how you can win free digi images from this week's sponsors. Am entering this card into several challenges including Cute Card Thursday, Spots and Dots (there are spots on the little pink puffy heart, and dots of sugary goodness on the yummy frosted cupcakes.)

Pixie's Snippets-Week #333                                                (pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.com)

Years ago my younger sister gave me a T-shirt with this sentiment for my 40th birthday. So when I found this vintage (1990) stamp from All Night Media in my stash I put it to work. Added a computer generated sentiment on the inside. Simple and sweet. (Oh… and when my sis turned 40, I got even. My card sentiment read- [front] "What do you get if you multiply your age by the circumference of your derrière?" [inside] "A big honkin' number!" I bet she's brewing something special for my 65th!)

I rescued this sweet little Santa when I fussy-cut him from an old greeting card. Wanted to add a sentiment that matched his cuteness, and opted to create a simplified HoHoHo with alphabet letters that have built-in bling! Since I wanted to enter the card into the current Christmas Crafts All Year Round Challenge that requires the use of Hot or Warm Color, I mainly used read and light creamy yellow (in the background paper.)

Another back to school card, this one for the teacher. (The tag is a freebie from skiptomylou.org/back-to-school-teacher-gift-tags) Then pencils are cut from scrapbook paper that I've had in my stash for a while. And, once again, I muted the bold background paper with a scrap of vellum so that the focal point (tag) can take center stage! (If you can tell, I really like vellum! Just picked up another package of the stuff at Hobby Lobby's grand opening in a nearby community. They even have it in several colors which is hard to find!) I'm entering this into several back to school challenges including SumMoreFun (mood board yellow pencils) and Power Poppy's Creative Confetti, in which I needed to use three school supplies in making my card. I used a red marker for coloring, scissors to cut the tag and pencils, and a glue stick to hold everything together. (Actually, I added a bit of double stick tape, too, since I usually don't trust glue sticks to hold for very long!)
