I can't believe I'm finishing the second of my three month DT gig at Beccy's Place and starting my second month as a DT at QKR Stampede. I am loving both!
The digi set that I'm sharing at Beccy's Place is called Keeping It Simple and I have a feeling it's going to become a favorite! The floral images are versatile, but I especially like the six (yes SIX) sentiments that will work for so many occasions.
The pastel "Thanks so much" card has a nice wow factor, but actually went together pretty easily. I made the colored blooms with vellum scraps, so just traced the flowers right through the vellum, cut them out, punched a hole in the center and attached with colored brads. Two panels of patterned paper as a backdrop, and a pretty bow finished it off!
The newspaper wrapped bouquet is one of my favorites with this set. I did some web research for newspaper images that might work, and found one that was perfect… and is also free. (You can find it here- printmini.com/printables/news/newspa.html)!

I can't believe I'm starting my second month as a DT for QKR. I just placed my second order of images for September… and can't wait to play with them. So fun!
Anyway, back to the challenge. QKR challenges are always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded. This week I used two images: Birdhouses (Q-digi23603) and Bird Day Sentiment (E-24407). I also printed off, and fussy cut, three copies of the little bird from the image Birdhouse (Q-digi14514). Note- I did reverse one of the birds for variety. This is one of the things that I love about digi images. You can enlarge, reduce or flip them!) One of these little birdies is peeking out from its house (I used an Exacto knife to cut the opening), the other two are holding ends of a scrap of red string that I wrapped around the sentiment. The inside sentiment was hand-printed by little ol' me (first sketched with pencil, then with a fine point black Sharpie pen! I finished off the inside greeting with a bit more string and one little puffy heart to add a bit of personality to the exclamation point! (Am entering this card into a few challenges, including Power Poppy's Inspired by Home which must depict something that reflects your home. We have a birdhouse attached to a fence that I can see from our dining room window. I love watching its busy inhabitants as I enjoy my morning coffee.)
