Misc. Cards

For my final entry into Di’s Digi Stamps current challenge, I used Di's sweet image named "Party Patch" and a free sentiment f(rom paulaposts.blogspot.com/2010/03/happy-birthday-digital-stamp.html) Made the card using a double triangle fold  (instructions here splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/doubletrianglefold) Image and sentiment were colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  I provided a closeup of both the front image and the inside sentiment so you can see the details. That said, I think I need to take a class on creating fur. I'm getting pretty good at hair, but learned from this card that pet fur is quite different to color.

This sweet digi, named "Star Reader" is from Little Scraps of Heaven (LSOH). I made a back to school card using the color palette of the current LSOH Color Challenge.  The sentiments are both computer generated with a fun font named AR Darling.

Wasn't sure what I'd make as my final entry in the current challenge at Double D's named "The Moon and/or the Stars" until I found this image of a wolf baying at the moon that I'd stamped back in 1999 when I owned a small stamp store in South Dakota. I remember making the impression since it was a new technique that involved applying a thin layer of brown Liquid Applique onto heavy cardstock with a brayer brush. When dry, you heat the surface with a heat gun, and end up with a card front that resembles soft suede. The image is then stamped with black pigment. For some reason, I didn't make a card then… so the image has waited nearly 2 decades to add beauty to this card. (Also, because of the time delay, I don’t know which company made the stamp but I think it was probably Embossing Arts or Northwoods which we carried at that time. Tore the suede paper around the image to give it a distressed look and used an Exacto knife to cut the circle out for the moon then backed it with white paper. Mounted it on scrapbook paper and added a few twinkling stars with a white gel pen.  The sentiment, printed off on vellum, is a freebie from thegirlcreative.com/shoot-for-the-moon-printable/

  2. More cuteness! You're a busy stamper! That's interesting about the technique with the Liquid Applique. I love the image and glad you held onto it all these years. I still have at least one stamp from Embossing Arts who have been out of business for a while. Thanks for playing along with us again at Double D!
