Late Night + Day Off Work= Fun!

This sweet little Lili of the Valley is fussy cut from a digi where he is jumping over daffodils because I wanted to pair him with this encouraging sentiment so that I could enter him in a Bugaboo Stamps challenge called “Cheer up Buttercup.” Also wanted to create a CAS card so kept the background to a minimum. I love this little cutie!

Another coloring card that I picked up at a woman’s retreat at our church. Was relaxing to color it with Tombow markers and white gel plus. Then added a few sequins for some bling. While at the retreat, a friend and I enjoyed coffee and specialty cupcakes from a little bakery. They came in a box made of this wonderful dotted pink cardboard. Decided to make it into the background for my card… and will give the card to that friend that enjoyed sharing cupcakes. Am thinking she’ll get a kick out of the fact that I upcycled the box!

This week’s Simon Says Monday Challenge requires stars in the entry. I remembered making a Rock Star card a few years ago using felt guitars that I bought at the dollar store. Dug around in my craft room and found that I had a few left. So created a background with a few layers of various patterned papers, cut a star from colored vellum, added some silver stars and a banner and nestled the guitar into place. I'm betting that some teenager, or aging rocker, will enjoy receiving this card in the future.

One of the current Bugaboo Challenges involves using a sketch. I had fun pairing a Bugaboo image with a plaid paper, a few banners and LOTS of glitter! Am also entering it into several Christmas challenges.
