I absolutely LOVE the digi set "Seasonal windows" from Beccy's Place. This Autumn image was printed off on kraft cardstock and colored with Tombow markers. I then cut the window panes out with an Exacto knife and mounted a scrap of acetate on the inside. Found a wonderful little free clip art fireplace scene that I lightly colored the mounted to my card with a scrap of thin vellum muting the colors a bit. Mounted the window on top of this to create a warm and inviting scene. (The sentiment is also from the set.) Entering the card into a few challenges, including Victorines Original's which provides a photo inspiration/mood board that shows the colors of the season including beautiful fall leaves.

The current CAS-ual Friday’s Challenge is to CASE a Girl Friday’s (DT) Card. My first CASE is a beautiful baby card made by Tasha. I loved the lush, layers of patterned paper and lacy lovelies. Tried to capture that on my card. The sweet image is a stamp that I’ve had for many years. I think it might be a retired image from Biblical Impressions.

This image I know is from Biblical Impressions. It was one of my mom’s favorite stamps and I think of her whenever I use it. She would have loved this card… because the little kitten is being naughty. (We had lots of naughty cats when I was growing up!)
Although the look on the kittens face is angelic, if you look closely you can see that his paws are purple.

I LOVE your pine forest card Kathy, it's beautiful! Great idea to use an old calendar picture for the background. I really love the way you've stamped the trees over the top to give the illusion of depth and distance.
ReplyDeleteYour second card is wonderful Kathy, I love this idea! I think this technique would be awesome for a Christmas card with a lit up tree and fireplace in the window.
I think you did a brilliant job with your CASE card, the layering is fabulous. I really like the little collection of embellishments you've placed over the purple ribbon, especially the safety pin.
Your final card is very cute, that's one sweet (but mischievous) little kitty!
Great job on this collection of wonderful cards.
Cheers,
Beccy
