Another entry for the CAS-ual Friday’s CASE a Girl Friday’s (DT) Card Challenge. This time I was inspired by a striking card created by WeiWei. But instead of snowflakes and a pastel color scheme, I used a fall color scheme and mounted real leaves that I’d pressed in a phone book. (Makes me wonder if people even have phone books anymore? I only use ours for pressing leaves and flowers!) To strengthen the fragile leaves I first gently laid them on a strip of clear packing tape, lightly pressed them onto the tape, then cut around them. Not sure if it will survive a trip in the mail, so will hand deliver it to a fellow lover of autumn. I know many of them!
And the card that inspired it:

Another of TLC’s (createwithtlc.blogspot.com) free digis of one of Cicely Mary Barker’s Flower Fairy Illustrations. This one, the Zinnia Fairy, has such a shy and pensive look. And I love her butterfly wings!

This weeks CAS challenge over at Less is More is the always difficult OLC (One Layer Card). But… it requires coloring… which I love to do. So had to make another card before the week was up. I used a few stamps from the Vintage Rides set from the Cats’ Meow that I colored with grey Spectrum Nior markers. Made a cloud template and chalked in light blue billows to add a bit more color plus added a bit of silver to the star on the plane.

From CAS, which I have always found challenging to do… I move on to a card design that it even MORE challenging to me- Shabby Chic. I always appreciate the wonderful shabby chic cards made by other stampers. They make it look so easy! This is about as close as I get to shabby chic! But I do think it is kind of yummy looking! (And since Wisconsin is the cheese and ice cream capital of the nation… world… or maybe even planet, when I saw this sentiment on Pinterest I just had to make a card so I could use it!)
