Many Digis + One Stamp

Made this card using two digis from Beccy's Place- Seasonal Window and Superb Fairy Wren. One reason I like digis is that you can adjust the size of the image. For this card, I printed the image on white cardstock. Then resized the clump of branches on the upper left to be much larger to place in the foreground of the card. I then printed the wren that is perched upon teh larger branch to the appropriate size and secured the little guy to the branch with a few dabs of Diamond Glaze. While that dried, I cut out the window panes with an exacto knife, attached a scrap of acetate and then used foam mounting tape to hold the window a bit above a strip of tan checked “wall paper” in a warm and inviting kitchen. Covered the kraft cardstock with a pretty blue plaid paper and mounted the card front to that. Lastly, I attached the branch with the wren to the card with very small squares of foam mounting tape and also more Diamond Glaze.
Lots of tedious fussy cutting, but worth the work because to me this card is a little picture of heaven. I can imagine that a few friends are sitting in that little "kitchen" enjoying coffee and a few laughs as they look out and enjoy the antics of the little Fairy Wren. And, since these cute little birds appear to only be found in Australia, this coffee date is happenin’ “Down Under!”)

I like spending hours making highly detailed cards, but also am learning to enjoy CAS creations. So, after the last very intricate card, I had fun using a Bugaboo image to make this sweet little card in a very short time! It is for a friend that is struggling with turning 40 this year. (I almost told her that I have shoes older than that… but didn’t think that would cheer her up!) Instead, I am sending this card. Am hoping the cute little pompom topped monkey, with the inside greeting that says, “You don’t look a day older than whatever age you claim to be!” will cheer her up.
PS- I’m still learning to use alcohol markers. And learned that overworking a blending pen to add shading on glossy paper causes an interesting look. Kinda looks like the monkey has a mild case of static cling!

I nabbed this free digi from TLC Creations (createwithtlc.blogspot.com ) a while ago. Had even printed it off on kraft paper to enhance the vintage feeling of the image but hadn’t put it to use. The current challenge from Victorine Stamps gives me that opportunity. Used scrapbooking paper as the background, added some bright stars and a bit of chalk to brighten the image. The reason for the color scheme? I live in Wisconsin. Go Pack!

I have taken so many of my rubber stamps off of the wood so that I can use them with my MISTI. Love the results, but the downside is that I don’t always remember what company made the stamps. That said, I think this sweet little guy is from Printworks. I love the simplicity of white embossing him on kraft cardstock. A little shading with my tan Tombow marker, a touch of red… and the coloring is a wrap!

  4. Your first creation is a work of art Kathy, it's beautiful! All your fussy cutting, diamond glazing and layering was absolutely worth the effort, the results are amazing. Although we do have these little birds around here, they don't come sit outside my windows... too many bossy lorikeets around!
I love your little monkey card, I think he's adorable. To me, he looks like he's extra fluffy, which of course, makes him all the more huggable. I'm sure your almost-40 year old friend will love it and no doubt be cheered up by that cute little face.
Fabulous image on the third card, I can imagine lots of footy fans would love a card like that... in their own team colours of course!
I also love white embossing on kraft Kathy, it always looks fabulous. Your little gingerbread man is adorable. I like that you've added some shading and a touch of red to help lift him off the card. Fabulous!
    Cheers,
