Fun Friday Entries Part 1

Participated in an image swap a while ago and was thrilled to receive this wonderful Lily of the Valley stamped image. Decided it would be the perfect fit for a “Spotlight Challenge” at we craft cards this week. Cut a heart stencil from acetate and colored the image sections that fell within the heart shaped window with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers (am slowly adding to my collection as I learn to use them.)

I grew up in a biker family. One of my brothers and my dad were both mechanics, so we always had at least two bikes in working order. My favorite was an old Harley with a side car that my dad had restored. So when I saw that the Less is More (CAS) challenge this week is titled “The Perfect Holiday” it reminded me of so many special childhood road trips. Mom didn’t like motorcycles, so she always joined us at the designated campground with the tents, food, etc. packed in the car. With six children in the family, these times together were truly holidays for us! (I added a close up of the motorcycle so you could seen the silver pen work and the little bit of color. Plus, I pulled my finger across the ink immediately after stamping it to add a smudge to depict motion. You can see that better in the close up.)

Another card for the current Bugaboo Bingo challenge. I like this cute snowman image (and it was a free digi when I picked it up!) Once again, positioned him on a colorful tag (that includes the color scheme needed for a Deep Ocean challenge), and embossed swirls cardstock (required in the Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge) then added a sentiment and bit of bling to fit into the bottom Bingo row- “Bugaboo image + sparkle + sentiment”.

 Christmas Card Throwdown- Embossing

Love this sweet bunny, from Di’s Digi Stamps. Colored the image in pastels to match the floral background paper that was up-cycled from an old greeting card. Fussy cut a few floral flourishes from the old card to add an accent to the front of the card and also bracketing the sentiment.
