Used the free image from Beccy’s Place titled Silhouette again to make a few ATCs. Made a mask for the sun by punching a circle from a post it note. Put that in place, then sponged colors to create a rich sunset. Left the Helen Keller quote on one of the ATCs, cut it from the bottom of the other and added a different sentiment, in the segmented way that seems to be popular now. Since I don’t trade ATC’s am thinking I’ll save these and attach them to card fronts in the future. Easy Peasy!

Rose Bloom and Rose Stem are both from Rubber Stampede. Sentiment is from an old SU set. Created a card that is CAS and included masking, to enter at AAA Card Challenges. I added shading along the left sides and bottoms of the blooms and leaves which adds a wonderful 3-D look to the roses. (And since the stamps were from two different sets, I am entering the card in the current Poppy Power challenge.)

This weekend I was working on putting together holiday card packets that I’ll be giving to a few staff member who are heading out to college in the next week. Have a few weddings coming up, so am working on card packets for those friends, too. Who doesn’t love a few dozen hand-made cards? They always seem to be appreciated. Discovered that I was low on Easter cards. The current Less Is More challenge requires a “real object” so I embossed a pretty pastel Easter egg, fussy cut and mounted it on foam squares, and tucked some sparkly Easter grass under it to stick out all around. (Sparkly Easter grass is real, isn’t it? I think in this case, it will be considered to be “real.”)

Another card for my card gift packets that has an Easter theme. Used a newly purchased Fiskars Embossing folder that my sweet hubby surprised me with a few weeks ago. Am entering this card into a Kraft & White challenge, over at CAS-ual Fridays. Was fun to dig through my stash and find items I could use in this color scheme. I really like the scrap of embossed vellum that I used as the base, and also the kraft brown photo corners which I’ve had for a few years. Both work perfectly for this challenge!

Gorgeous ATC's and lovely cards. The ATC's are fabulous. Thank you so much for joining us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Hugs, Sandra
ReplyDeleteYour ATCs are amazing Kathy, and what a great idea to use them on card fronts instead of swapping them. They are just the right size to become little pieces of art.
ReplyDeleteThe sympathy card you made is beautiful, I really like the rose and foliage stamps you used. You did an awesome job with the shadowing... I actually thought you had fussy cut around each piece until I read the description!
I love the colourful "grass" on your pink Easter card, what a fun addition. I too think it will pass the test for a "real" item.
Your last card for today is probably my favourite... I just love the colour scheme you used. The addition of the organza ribbon and the little photo corners finished it off beautifully. Well done Kathy!
Cheers,
Beccy
Pretty! And you must be one of the most prolific card makers around blogland. So once again thanks for playing at AAA Cards.
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy. All great cards. I can't believe in the midst of getting all your packets ready, you created a cute Easter card for our challenge. I love the added grass as your real object. Thank you for joining us this week at Less is More. 😊 Trina
