Final cards from the weekend

Am hosting a challenge at we craft cards this week, and decided to make it CAS. Used the funny image and sentiment from Beccy's Place digi set “Feathered Friends”. Made a post it mask from a post-it to protect my distressed birdie and then inked up a  foliage stamp from an old Stampendous floral set with Ivy Green and added the greenery. Kept lots of white space to be a true CAS, and the fun sentiment on the inside helps explain the birds pained look. (I am not a morning person so can definitely identify. Am thinking I probably have a similar look when I get up and there is no coffee waiting for me. THAT is one responsibility of my early-bird hubby. And he usually does a great job. Possibly to avoid seeing this look?!)

Another entry into the Simon Says Back to School challenge. This one also fits into two challenges that require bright colors. I used a free digi image from Whimsiedoodles (whimsiedoodles.com/freebies.html) and a free teacher tag that I found here eighteen25.com/2017/08/im-tickled-pink-teacher . Note- this card is being given to the mother of a kindergartener who is so excited about school, and her new teacher, that she can hardly wait until “three more sleeps” are over so that the long awaited day will arrive.

One final CAS card for this posting. Snagged a free digi from createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.com of a grungy monster. Googled “Frankenstein sayings” and found a perfect sentiment for the front of the card. Paired it with a line similar to one from Young Frankenstein for the inside of the card. The Less Is More challenge requires the addition of something real on the card. I added a few strips of gauze, with smears of red chalk. I don't usually make gory cards, but this one if kind of fun!

Since I printed off several of the Frankenstein images, I colored all of them and made a few ATC’s for the Simon Says Monday Challenge. Similar to the creation for my CAS card, the main difference is a different sentiment (this one found on Pinterest) and a few gunmetal gray brads. Am thinking that these will be attached to card fronts, and be added to gift packets of cards in the near future.

  2. You've been a very busy woman Kathy, well done on getting all these cards and ATCs done, as well as all the others I just looked at.
I had a little chuckle at the first card, I can totally relate to your story. I am definitely NOT a morning person either, but when you've got kids who need to go to school you really don't have much choice. I'm sure that look has been on my face every morning since forever!
The Tickled Pink card is adorable. I enjoyed the story of the little girl who is super excited to be starting kindy... hopefully her first day goes well.
The Frankenstein's monster card and ATCs are wonderful. I really like the addition of the gauze and red ink... definitely gives them a Halloween feel.
    Great work Kathy!
    Cheers,
