Baby’s, Bears & More

Another CAS card for Less Is More Tropical Fruit. This time I am using a cute bear image from Beccy’s Place, (his name is Stanley!)  In the digi image, Stanley is holding a Christmas ornament. For this card, he is holding a fresh orange. To make it, I cut a circle from textured yellow paper, sponged with orange dye ink, then added shading and highlights with brown ink and a white gel pen (smudged.) Added a stem and a few leaves, a scrap of patterned paper, plus made up a cute sentiment inside and Stanley is sure to brighten someone’s day!

This month the free image from Beccy’s Place is a nice cabin scene. However, I wanted to highlight the outhouse, so used a framed cutout… and made a fun sentiment that I printed on my computer. Am figuring that one of my “old” friends will get a kick out of it! (Note- the sentiment on the front reads, "The REAL little house on the prairie." And the inside reads, "Happy birthday from someone else who remembers the 'good old days'.") Am entering it into Beccy's Place August challenge, plus, since it is a birthday card, I am also entering it into Simon Says Monday Challenge.

Have had this beautiful sentiment card for many years… in two sizes. Love the way it looks embossed. Add a simple bow and a charm and it’s good to go!

I made a rainbow card last week by brayering rainbow ink on glossy cardstock. Brayered a  few extra card bases for later use. Decided to see what it would look like if I splattered water on the inked portion and LOVED the result. For this card I wanted to use a martini sticker as the focal point. Decided to mute the colors a bit with a sheet of aqua colored acetate attached with clear photo corners. Decided to mute the sentiment by sliding it beneath the aqua acetate, too. So fun!  (Note- I also provided a close up so that you can see the need splatters under the acetate. I'll be using this neat technique again!)

Have always loved this sweet image for baby cards. Figured it is the perfect fit for a challenge named “Showered with love.”

  2. You have been very busy Kathy, and what a great collection of cards you have to show for your work! The first one is very clever, what a fabulous idea to change to bauble to an orange... and what a great job you did sponging the textured yellow card stock. I'm going to keep this idea in the back of my mind.
I got a kick out of the second card you made, and I'm sure your friend will too. Although I've had the unfortunate experience of using a drop toilet on rare occasions, my Mum remembers when that's all that was available. Thank goodness for indoor plumbing!
The gold sentiment on the third card you made is absolutely beautiful, I can see why you love it so much. The little charm and gold bow are a lovely addition.
You did a great job with the colour on the rainbow card, and I like the effect you got from splashing on some water. The martini glass works perfectly with the background effect.
Your final card is adorable! The little baby image is so sweet, I love how she's all tucked up with her tooshie in the air. The pink paper is a lovely, soft touch.
Thanks for sharing all your fabulous cards!
    Cheers,
    Beccy
