Good
Morning! I was having issues with our server yesterday, so am getting my Guest DT
cards posted a little late for today’s Outlawz
Sunday “Songs and Rhymes” Challenge inspired by a poem about Fairies from
artist Cicely Mary Barker. (I’ll bet you’ve seen Cicily’s beautiful art, which
you can explore more in-depth HERE!) My first card features a free digi from Sheepski Designs, named “Pollen Fairy.” I love how she is gently petting her friend.. and sharing a bit of bling with him in the process. (Fairies do love glitter!)
Supplies:
·
Digi- “Pollen Fairy” is a freebie from Sheepski Designs (To obtain this
freebie, join the FB page HERE. Then you can find the digi HERE.)
·
Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique
markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·
Front Sentiment “Happy
Bee Day” from SnapClickSupply.com digi
set (Sweet As Can Bee Word Art)
· Background Scene is a freebie from The Graphics
Fairy (Beehive Flowers)
·
Yellow vellum, Stickles (in several colors), and other items from my
stash.

Outlawz
Twisted Thursday Challenge- Anything Goes
My
second card for the Fairies challenge at Outlawz features I raided my many
folders of “treasures” to find a
background (an upcycled card front of a beautiful roses with gold accents) and
a frame upon which Ellie can “perch.” Computer
generated sentiments and a flurry of pretty butterflies finish off the card.
Supplies:
· Digi- “Ellie” from The Paper Shelter
·
Colored with Spectrum
Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
· Sentiments-
Computer Generated
·
Butterflies are trimmed from a free full page of butterflies in various sizes and
colors
The
current challenge at The Paper Shelter is a yummy one- CHOCOLATE! I enlarged
one of their cute digis (to fill the corner of an A2 card) and printed it onto
peach colored card stock. After coloring and fussy-cutting the digi, I started
on the card shape- a Diorama Card. However, after putting the card together, I didn’t
like the light-colored paper I’d chosen. Instead of starting over, I decided to cut off the front flap so the card became a stand-alone frame. I cut an A2
sized piece of black cardstock, cut out an oval shape, and adhered it to the
front of the card. After taping pretty chocolate colored patterned paper to the
inside of the card, I adhered the digi to the left front corner of the frame.
Then came the really fun part… I swapped out the butterfly on the digi with… CHOCOLATE!
I created a Hershey’s Kiss from a scrap
of card board onto which I adhered silver foil upcycled from a handful of Hershey’s
Kisses which were… um… consumed in the creation of this card! The thin vellum
label was upcycled from a large (7 oz.) Hershey’s Kiss that my DH gave me for
Christmas last year. (He really does know the way to my heart!)
I’m entering this card into several
challenges including
Park Hopping-My Happy Place (there is
a park in PA, the home of Hershey’s chocolate, that has a monster roller-coaster
and three restaurants that offer… you got it… lots of options to enjoy Hershey’s
chocolate!)
Supplies:
·
Digi- from The Paper Shelter (Little Butterfly)
·
Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique
markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·
Card Shape- Surprise Diorama Card (altered as in details noted above)
·
Patterned paper and other items
from my stash.

You have a good eye, my friend. I am assuming that the touch of a fairy can turn pollen to glitter. Because I know how much fairies love sparkly things!
DeleteTwo lovely cards Kathy - love the split sentiment on the second card. Beautiful work, and I gave up trying to use my laptop yesterday evening as it was being a pain , so I hear your frustration.
