myasperations 11-20-21

Here are my final three cards for the Fall 2021 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.
Plus an additional festive ornament from Beccy's Place.

This first card features a sweet digi and fun sentiments from a shop that is fairly new to me named Polkadot Orchard, which has been a sponsor of the Coffee Lovers Hop for a few years. I won these digis at the Spring 2021 Hop!

·   Front Digi and Inside sentiment- Polka Dot Orchard Digi Set (Gnome Talkie Before Coffee)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Front Sentiment- “Have Yourself…” Polka Dot Orchard Digi Set (Merry Little Coffee)

·   Pioneer Clear Photo corners- available from several sources

·   Gold photo corners available from several web sources (WXJ13 Photo Mounting Corners)

·   Sheer black dotted Swiss ribbon- JoAnne’s

·   All other items from my stash.

Crafty Hazelnut’s Patterned Paper Challenge- November

My second card this post features another digi from Polkadot Orchard that has a more elegant feeling. I printed the mug onto kraft cardstock and the Poinsettia on white.  I colored ten fussy-cut both, pieced them together, and adhered to the card front. Several years ago I bought several boxes of Christmas cards at the local Goodwill at 75% off. They make great bases for cards, have their own envelope, and also sometimes I can even use the inside sentiment. That is what I did for this card. A few sparkly embellishments finish off the card.

Supplies:

·   Mug digi- Polka Dot Orchard Digi Set (Merry Little Coffee)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Front Sentiment- From my scrapbook stash

·   Card base and inside sentiment- pack of Christmas Cards from Goodwill

·   Elegant Poinsettia sticker on the inside- Hobby Lobby

·   Center of Poinsettia- Liquid Pearls (Buttercup)

·   Brown photo corners and other items from my stash.

Di’s Digi Stamps- Lots of Layers

This fun card features digis and sentiments from Beccy's Place set. (PS My fat pants will get some stage one holiday season practice on Thanksgiving!!) I love the sense of humor of artist Beccy Muir, and these sentiments from two of my favorite sets always make me smile… and sometimes when paired with an image like this one named Aggie. (Yep. Beccy also names all of her characters. Isn’t that fun!) I used a few of the last treasured scraps from an Echo Pack paper pack to add some yummy baked goods to the card. They will help Aggie fill out the fat pants mentioned on the inside sentiment. (PS My fat pants will face the initial annual round of holiday eating on Thanksgiving!  Hmmm, I have an idea of what my New Years' resolution will be in 2022!)
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Outlawz TicTacToe (matching the top row with ribbon+hot beverage+a table centerpiece that reminds me of Thanksgiving… which reminds me to make sure my favorite pair of fat pants are ready to stretch!)

Supplies:
·   Coffee Digi- Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Poultry in Motion) Also available in clear photopolymer set
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Front Sentiment- “When what to my wondering eyes…” from Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Here Comes Christmas)

·   Inside Sentiment- “Fat Pants” from Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Grumpy Goose)

·   Echo Park 6x6 paper pad- Coffee

·   All other items from my stash.

My final card this post features sentiments from Beccy's Place digi sets, plus a technique using a used dryer sheet to create the sparkly ornament from a stamped image. I’m entering it into the Beccy’s Place Challenge: CASE Yourself. I’m CASEing a card that I made for a Twofers challenge on Sept 9,2020. (I came up with a way to make this card that does require spray adhesive- which I have always felt was waaaay too messy! For details, check out the post for my original card HERE.) When I made the card last year, one dryer sheet provided me with three ornaments (using a free template provided in the supply list below). I used one of them… and still have one left, plus some scraps. (Not sure just how I’ll use them, but it’s against my packrat nature to waste such glittery beauty!)  I made the metal top of the ornament with two paper punches and scraps of metallic silver paper from my stash and attached a sentiment from one of Beccy’s Christmas sets to the ornament. (At least I tried to attach it. But learned that none of my adhesives would stick to the glittery background. After some experimenting, I found that I COULD adhere it to a strip of sheer ribbon which I wrapped around the ornament and taped to the back. Whew!) I then put the card together with a silver cord, a sheer ribbon bow, and clear photo corners. A small silver snowflake charm on the inside sentiment (from another of Beccy’s Christmas sets) helped to finish the lovely card.  One added note-I find myself using Beccy’s Place sentiments quite often. I appreciate that all of her sets include wonderful assortments of sentiments in various fonts.
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Double D’s Trees (My card features a Christmas tree plus a grove of trees stamped on the ornament.) and Path Of Positivity’s Be Grateful (I’m so grateful to be spending another holiday season with my best friend and the love of my life, my sweet hubby! Rich and I celebrate our 44th Anniversary in December. As he slowly progresses through the last stage of MS, every day together is a blessing. By God’s grace, we have survived the last few decades of changes and are growing ever closer during the last few years. I am thankful for the gift of humor that both of us enjoy, as we find reasons to laugh together every day. Most involve issues related to getting older- walkers, hip replacements, tooth problems, wondering… a lot! I wonder about what comes after trifocals and we both regularly find ourselves wondering why we got out of our recliners to go to another room! Getting old is difficult… but also can be so funny. Now… what was I saying?)
At the left is my original card that I'm CASEing.
And below is my new card.

Awww Kathy, now I'm tearing up as I read the beautiful words you share about sweet Rich and your 44 years of marriage. I'm so glad the two of you find reasons to be grateful and happy despite the challenges that life brings. Bless you both.
