I love this freebie at Scribbles Designs where the current
challenge is to use a house or buildings on our card. I decided to use the
trendy digi on a card with a timeless Christmas theme so that I can also enter
my card into Beccy’s Place annual (November) Month of Holiday Cards Event. Beautiful
galaxy patterned paper, a few sentiments, and a bit of bling finish off the unusual
card. (I had fun adding a few strands of Christmas lights to the scene, as they add such a magical touch to the holiday.) Supplies:
· Sentiments- from
Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Oh Night Divine)
·
Galaxy paper and Sparkly Star (gem) Stickers- Hobby Lobby
·
Silver photo corners available from several web sources (WXJ13 Photo Mounting
Corners)
·
All other items from my stash.

STAMPlorations is a sponsor again this year for the 2021 Fall-winter Coffee Lovers Hop. So I’m having fun featuring some of artist/owner Shery Russ’ beautiful digis image in my entries. This one features a digi that was a freebie several years ago. It has be revised a bit and is not included in a wonderful set of 10 digis PLUS a bonus sheet of 5 tags for just $9. (There is a beautiful freebie available now you can find it here!)
I’m using up a few remaining sheets from a favorite Echo Park 6x6 paper pad (sniff sniff) and hope to find another one soon. It has helped me out on several hops. This time I paired the Coffee and Roses digi with snips from a paper doily, a few scraps of ribbon and a free sentiment to finish off my card. Oops, almost forgot! I also added additional color to the finished card with bold patterned paper and a few scraps of a blue plastic index divider sheet. (If you’ve followed my blog you’ll know that I use these wonderful gems A LOT! They are sometimes called document file folders, come in a pack of assorted colors, and can be found in the office supply section of most stores. I’ve even found them in dollar stores. They're cheaper than colored vellum and more translucent. Punches and dies don’t work on these sheets, but they are easy to fussy-cut with a sharp pair of scissors and you can write on them a black permanent fine-line marker.)

I love this
sweet digi named “Love to the Moon and Back”, and was thrilled to find a book named
“On the Day that You were born” by Nancy Tilman that holds a beautiful excerpt
that compliments the digi. I’ve used the combo on several baby cards over the
years but decided I could also use it for a “You are special” card for one of
my great-nieces (I now have 16 of them!) The freebie circle sentiment on the
front of the card is the perfect addition, especially with a heart that has
BLING! (And the best thing for YOU is that this sweet digi is available now for
just $1.00! See link in my supplies section.)
Hmmm. After I took the photo I see that it looks like someone took to that tree with a chain saw. I might need to do some repairs before I send it!
Supplies:
· Digi- Dis Digi (Love To the Moon and Back)
· Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
· Haze around moon made with a sponge and white craft ink
· Front Sentiment-
Freebie from Nettyscards.blogspot.com (Love You to the
Moon)
· Inside
Sentiment- Nancy Tillman from her book “On the Day that You were Born”
·
Window die-cut A2 card, heart-shaped doily, and other items from my stash

Wow! That's some fabulous paper Kathy, it really looks like an entire galaxy of stars... wonderful colour too. I love the little Christmas lights you added to the buildings, the "glow" is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteYour second card is fabulous, love the beautiful image and you've done a great job with the colouring. The blue translucent sheet looks great layered under the mat. I'm sorry to read that your favourite paper is nearly used up... I feel your pain!
I love the sweet image you used on the last card and I'm sure your great niece will too. You've done a wonderful job with the colouring, I particularly like the glow around the moon. So beautiful!
Cheers,
Beccy
