I am posting my fifth card for this year's Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place! During the month of November, Beccy
provides a daily theme (most based on the letters of the alphabet) and invites
participants to create cards for ANY holiday and use images from any company.
And… she offers several prizes on a daily and weekly basis. So there are lots of reasons to get involved (plus you'll get a jump start on holiday card making!)
For this card that includes embossing
for the letter “E”, I’m highlighting the handsome Finn. Decided to make his
scarf a paper-pieced beauty using two of the patterns from an 8x8 digi paper
pack from Digi Doodles. I love the brown/blue color combo, so carried that over
into my background layered with patterns and textures. I especially like how the
elegant vellum embossed snowflakes add a bit of translucency to the card. A flurry of die-cut snowflakes, sentiments,
and photo corners finish it off! Tada!

I love this sweet little Antoni the Coffee Gnomie from
Digi Doodles and just had to feature him in a card for the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I printed Antoni on Kraft paper
in hopes it might give him a vintage feeling (I think it worked, especially on
his soft white beard!) He’s perched upon a festive wreath, and a red dotted Swiss
bow adds a shout of bright color. The bow inspired me to add the puffy heart to
the sentiments… because I do love those little stickers! I’m entering this card into
several challenges including Outlawz TicTacToe (matching the top row with
ribbon+hot beverage+foilage.)
Supplies:
· Front Sentiment-
“Sweet Holiday Wishes” from Beccy’s Place Digital Stamp Set (Christmas Cheers)
· Wreath- from a
12x12 Echo Park Sticker sheet named A Cozy Christmas

Yourself a Merry Little Christmas)

Hazelnut’s Christmas Challenge- #568 AG
I’m working on making
up packets of assorted cards that I like to give as Christmas gifts and
realized that I’m short on Halloween ones. So… this cutie from The Paper
Shelter saves the day! I used both the digi and the matching background (I love
how each digi comes with a background, especially when I can layer them digitally
using my free Paint program (find a link in my supplies list.) I traced his ghost
costume onto white vellum, fussy-cut, and attached it over the top of the digi
to create a bit of layered texture to the card. And, because I cut out the eye
holes, his eyes pop out a bit from the digi. I also printed off an extra copy of his balloon and candy-holder, fussy-cut, and attached them with foam tape to add some depth, plus added a piece of dark ribbon to the balloon for realism! The trimmed the sentiment
into two sections so that I could use half on the front and the rest on the
inside, then fussy-cut a few extra bats to add a bit more spooky-ness to the
card. (I really think
that bats are terrifying, mainly because I had an almost face-to-nose confrontation
with one back when I was in college. Their eyes really are red!)

Shelter Digital Set (Spoooky!)

I love the papers and cardstock you chose, blue and brown is an awesome colour combination Kathy. And the little touches of white add a beautiful contrast. Your colouring is fabulous and you always do a great job finishing the inside of the card too.
ReplyDeleteAntoni is a very handsome gnomie, and yes, I agree that he has a lovely vintage vibe. Great idea to print him onto the kraft card. The wreath looks lovely too.
Fabulous Halloween card to finish the post Kathy, what a cute ghost. I like that you've fussy cut several of the details to add a little more dimension.
Cheers,
Beccy
