myasperations 11-15-21

The 15th of the month finds me making a DT card for the challenge at QKR Stampede. Stop by the challenge, which is always “Anything Goes” and several prizes are awarded. Maybe you’ll be inspired to enter a card or two yourself?
I printed a fun western cowboy digi (or more appropriately, cowbear!) onto kraft brown cardstock.  After coloring the bear, I added highlights with a white colored pencil to make him look dusty, weathered, and scruffy. The patterned papers in the background plus a scrap of twine on the inside add to the rustic western theme.

Supplies:
·   Digi- Eureka Digital Stamp (Branding) Also available in unmounted or cling-mounted
·   Patterned Paper Background from a video named Double 6x6 Wonder found HERE
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, white colored pencil, Sakura Gelly Roll white & silver gel pens
·   Inside digi-Sentiment- “Happy Birthday to You” (unknown source)
·   Cardstock, patterned papers, a scrap of twine, and other items from my stash.

Am posting another card for one of my favorite holiday challenges- Beccy’s Place Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge! Every day in November Beccy provides a theme (most based on the letters of the alphabet) and invites participants to create cards for ANY holiday, using images from any company. And… she offers several prizes on a daily and weekly basis. So there is no reason not to get involved.
This card features a digi and sentiments from Beccy’s Place digi set on a striking but very easy to create “Triangle Fold” Base. I attempted to create the look of rich Damask fabrics on the regal trio by coloring their cloaks with deep rich shades and adding patterns with gold and silver gel pens. The final proof of their status was to add “gems” to their crowns and gifts.
Supplies:
·   Digi and sentiments- Beccy’s Place Digital Stamp Set (Three Kings)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, Sakura Gelly Roll white, gold and silver gel pens
·   Triangle Fold Instructions can be found HERE
·   Galaxy Patterned paper and crown sticker- Hobby Lobby
·   Cardstock, metallic papers, gems, and other items from my stash.

My second card for the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop features sentiments and scraps of patterned papers from an Echo Park 6x6 paper pad. (I do need to see if I can find another one of these wonderful paper pads, because mine is now just bits and scraps!)
Supplies:
·   Echo Park 6x6 paper pad- Coffee
·   Pioneer Black Photo corners- available from several sources
·   Cardstock and other items from my stash.

  1. They are the perfect patterned papers for your Western-themed card Kathy, great choice! Love the sweet bear, what a great expression he has, and your colouring is wonderful.
Your second card is amazing! I was so surprised to read that you'd added the patterns over the top of the colours with pens, I really thought you'd pieced it all with scrapbooking paper. You're so talented Kathy, and with such fabulous ideas. Love the addition of the gems, it really does make them look regal.
The final card in your post is fabulous, love a good "scrap" card, particularly when it's about my favourite drink! I always feel sad when I come to the end of a wonderful paper pack... which is actually the same way I feel when I come to the end of a really good cuppa!
    Cheers,
    Beccy
