myasperations 11-12-21

It’s Friday and time for the Colour Crazy Challenge. This is an “Anything Goes” challenge but it adds a requirement; the creation needs to include coloring in “any colouring medium you like, onto any project you like, and in any colours you like.” I’ve never outgrown my love for coloring… which is why making cards is stress therapy for me!!
This week's sponsor is All Dressed Up and my DT card features a sweet digi named Sledging Pup.  As soon as I saw this cute little pup with his look of intense anticipation, I knew just why he is so excited… Santa! An upcycled calendar page, torn paper snowdrifts, a few sentiments from a Beccy’s Place digi set, plus some hand-lettered “jingle” bubbles complete the fun Christmas scene.
Supplies:
·   Digi- All Dressed Up named (Sledging Pup)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Front Sentiment- “Ready or Not” from Beccy’s Place Digital set (Here Comes Christmas)

·   Inside Sentiment- “Make It Merry” from Beccy’s Place Digital set (Here Comes Christmas).

·   Cardstock, upcycled calendar, a scrap of ribbon, silver metallic paper, and other items from my stash.

Shortly after I started my blog in 2017, I joined my first ever Coffee Lovers Card Makers Blog Hop… and haven’t missed one since! My first entry in the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop features a beautiful digi from Stamplorations. After coloring the image I used a scrap of green cardstock to create a few pumpkin leaves. I attached them by cutting two small slits near to stem, inserting the leave ends, and taping them in place on the underside of the image. I also created imitation corrugated mug strips by cutting strips of tan paper, sizing them to be a little longer than the width of the cup (to create “tabs.)” I scored narrowly spaced lines, then cut slits on the sides of the two cups, inserted the scored strips, and taped them to the underside. I also added leaves to the pumpkin, created with scraps of green cardstock. I added additional color to the finished card with bold patterned paper and a scrap of an orange plastic index divider sheet.  (If you’ve followed my blog you’ll know that I use these wonderful gems A LOT! They are sometimes called document file folders- come in a pack of assorted colors and can be found in the office supply section of most stores. I’ve even found them in dollar stores. They're cheaper than colored vellum and more translucent. Punches and dies don’t work on these sheets, but they are easy to fussy-cut with a sharp pair of scissors and you can write on them a black permanent fine-line marker.)

Supplies:
·   Digi- Stamplorations Digital Stamp (a previous freebie, no longer available)
(I did find a similar digi named Better Than Autumn) It's regularly $2, but is 25% off during November.)
·  Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Front Sentiment from Imagine That Digi Set (Coffee Sentiments)
·   Inside Sentiment from Power Poppy Digital Set (Autumns Opulence)
·   Patterned Paper-Hobby Lobby
·   Package of A2 cards with Envelopes in fall colors- Hobby Lobby

A friend's daughter is in her 2nd year of Medical School at a University over 1000 miles away. She has struggled with a recent health issue, and since she loves all things Disney, so I loved making her this fun card. (Psssst- I used a wonderful font on the inside sentiment, named Waltograph, that works beautifully on Disney-inspired cards. You can find it on the web, where several sites offer it at no cost.)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Sparkly Heart Stickers-Hobby Lobby

  1. I love the little story you included with the first card Kathy... yes, I can see the look of anticipation as he waits for Santa to arrive. So exciting! Great colouring too, and I love the upcycled calendar page.
Your autumn themed card is lovely! I love seeing pumpkins and squash on cards and as décor during fall, their bright colours and assorted shapes are fabulous. Wonderful sentiment too.
The last card in your post is lovely, what a kind and thoughtful gesture for your friend's daughter. The image is very cute and the colours are totally reminiscent of Mickey Mouse. The font you found for the inside of the card is perfect.
    Cheers,
    Beccy
