myasperations 11-10-21

It's time for another challenge at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog where challenges are always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded from one or more sponsors.  Stop by the blog to check it out!
This week's sponsor is Dr. Digi and my DT card features a festive image named Christmas Cheer. The digi has the jolly elf pair holding bottles of beer. (Although I like beer, at Christmas, I really like holiday treats. So opted to have the elves celebrate with cookies...one of my favorite addictions!) After coloring the digi with Spectrum Noir Classique Markers, I added textures, patterns, and highlights with a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen, then fussy-cut the happy elves carefully trimming the beer bottles from their hands. The gingerbread cookies were cut from patterned scrapbook paper, highlighted with a white gel pen then carefully positioned in their hands (I cut around their fingers so I could “fold” them over the cookies to hold them in place- with the help of a dab of adhesive and tape.)  Bold patterned Christmas paper provides the background on the front of the card, and a fussy-cut gingerbread cookie plus a scrapbook sentiment tag decorates the inside. So fun!

Supplies:
·   Digi- Dr. Digi Digital Stamp (Christmas Cheer)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Inside Sentiment- Sentiment tag from my scrapbook stash

·   Patterned Christmas paper- Hobby Lobby

·   All other items from my stash.

Yay… it’s time for one of my favorite holiday challenges! For the 9th year, artist/owner, Beccy Muir at Beccy’s Place is offering her Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge. Every day in November Beccy provides a theme (most based on the letters of the alphabet) and invites participants to create cards for ANY holiday and use images from ANY company. And… she offers several prizes on a daily and weekly basis. So there is no reason not to get involved.
I’m getting a late start this year because of a busy work schedule, but I hope to post often the rest of the month. My first card features a sweet digi and sentiments from a set named My Mama. I printed the mama and cubs on kraft cardstock, colored then fussy-cut them. I created the background with beautiful patterned mulberry paper that I found at a local thrift store. I added a pretty heart, complete with a brass charm, to decorate the inside of the card.
I'm entering this card into several challenges including Double D's "Walk in the Woods" (I live in a state with lots of bears. About 10 years ago, a friend that lives in the woods a few hours north of us came home to find a large brown bear sitting on his lawn, eating a frozen pizza he'd "found" in the freezer in my friend's garage. Needless to say, they let him enjoy the pizza!)
Supplies:
·   Digi and Sentiments- Beccy’s Place Digital Stamp (My Mama)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Cardstock, delicate flowered mulberry paper, a scrap of ribbon, and small brass heart charm from my stash.

My final card highlights another occasion that is fun to celebrate...a wedding! I used an image from All Dressed Up that includes a little “over the moon” sentiment. The starry background paper is from a freebie 4th of July bundle from Polkadoodles. (But you better grab it quickly, because I don’t know how long it will be available. Oh, and the paper doesn’t usually have the pale stripes across the stars. My printer ink is a little low. The lines are not very apparent on the card, but for some reason really stand out in the photo.)
I'm entering this card into several challenges including Outlawz  Tuesday Color Challenge- Color Wheel (I used the two shades of blue from the top of the wheel and the copper color of her hair from the bottom of the wheel. Plus the optional word Happy/happiness is included on the inside sentiment.)
Supplies:
·   Starry Background- Polkadoodles- Free digital bundle (USA 4th July Celebration)

·   Digi- All Dressed Up Digital Stamp (Over the Moon)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Inside Sentiment- Upcycled from an old wedding card

·   Silver photo corners available from several web sources (WXJ13 Photo Mounting Corners)

·   Cardstock, silver paper, and other items from my stash.

  2. The black and white paper is the perfect background for those festive elves Kathy, the contrast beautifully. Love how you've changed up the beer for some fresh baked gingerbread... I'm not a beer drinker and would prefer the baked treats any day.
Your Mother's Day card is beautiful! The thrift store paper was a great find, it's a lovely soft colour and looks great behind the bears. Love that you printed them on the kraft and then coloured over the top.
The last card is your post is gorgeous, the image is so sweet. I thought the lines were part of the paper until I read your post... I actually think they look great! Beautiful work Kathy.
    Cheers,
    Beccy
