I’ve never made a corner flip card
before, so was excited to see it show up in a challenge at the wecraftcards
forum. Wasn’t hard to make, but I did end up oopsing with my cutter. The
result? I nearly cut through one section that was supposed to be folded! A
small strip of pink paper hid the oops… and the tape that held it together.
Adding the beautiful butterfly drew attention to… well the beautiful butterfly!
Some delicate floral paper, and few sentiments on the inside (adorned with tiny
flowers I fussy-cut from the paper) and Voilà… done!
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Butterfly Challenge although I didn’t attempt the Quad Easel fold that Mrs. A shared in her tutorial, I did use all three of the colors (Quinacridone = Magenta, Quick Sand = Light Yellow, Quince = Green) plus one theme (butterfly), plus Outlawz Saturday Challenge (Summer- which is reflected in the flowers and butterfly on my card.)

I wanted to see if I could make another Corner Flip Card correctly… so tried again. This time I did a little better and the card held together. (But still not perfect. I do need to learn restraint with my seldom-used paper cutter!) I needed a masculine birthday card for a lover of all things Western… and a bunch of items from my stash helped complete the task. A “hank” of twine and a scrap of red bandana add some scratchy texture and a shout of bright color. Voilà! (Or…. Should I say WaHoo?!)
· Western scene upcycled from a box of cards found at a local thrift store years ago
· Boots and Cowboy Hat fussy-cut from an upcycled card from my craft stash
· Sentiment- “Happy Birthday” a Papercrafts Magazine Freebie (no longer available)
· Cardstock, foam tape, weathered wood paper, twine, and bandana scrap from my stash

I wanted to create something to enter into Di’s Digi’s current challenge so dug through my stamps and found this wonderful scripture verse stamp that features several suns. (I removed the rubber from the wood years ago so don’t know the company… but I’m thinking maybe Stampendous?). After coloring the image, I decided that the shape of this scripture verse would fit beautifully on a bookmark. I remembered making magnetic bookmarks years ago with my 5th grade Sunday School students. They were super easy to make, inexpensive... and useful, too! (They require a paper strip, two small pieces of adhesive-backed magnet strips that are available in a roll at most craft stores, and whatever you want to use to decorate them. The bookmark folds over the page and the magnets secure it in place… so there is nothing sticking out of the book and it won’t accidentally come out until you take it out!)
While I had the magnets out, I decided to make one more bookmark, with a sunshine sentiment. A bit of stamping and coloring, plus a seldom-used Victorine pattern decorative scissors give the tag a whole different look. The final touch was to add dotted lines to represent the butterfly’s meandering flit across the tag.
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Outlawz Tuesday TicTacToe (the butterfly tag reflects the final column- yellow and pale green from the flower, a butterfly and pale leaves in the background) and Outlawz Sunday (Sun wins over rain, yay!)
