It’s Friday
and time for the Colour Crazy Challenge which is “Anything Goes” but adds a
requirement; the creation needs to include coloring in “any colouring medium
you like, onto any project you like, and in any colours you like.” I’ve never
outgrown my love for coloring… which is why making cards is stress therapy for
me!!
This week's sponsor is Digi Doodles Studio and my DT card features a relaxing image named Bubbles. I printed the curly-haired beauty on peach-colored cardstock. After coloring the digi Spectrum Noir Classique Markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen, I traced an oval from a scrapbook template, trimmed around it, then used a ruler, marker, and gel pen to create grey and white stripes onto the “wallpaper.” The final touch was to add definition and sparkle to the bubbles with the grey marker, white gel pen, and Stickles. So fun!
I'm entering this card into several challenges including Digi Doodle Studios (My favorite time of the year is Winter... and I LOVE soaking in warm and fragrant bubble baths on cold snowy days. Ahhh, heaven!)

I love rocker cards, so it was fun to create one for the current Butterfly Challenge (one of my favs!) The sponsor, Mrs. A, provides instructions for a creative fold with each challenge. They are really helpful and easy, plus she usually demonstrates several versions of a fold. For this card, I used her first set of instructions plus added a doily to the base. So fun! I looked through my stamps and digis to find an image that would work well on a rocker card… and found this cute one from Di’s Digis that works beautifully. The paper doily, patterned paper, and scrap of pink ribbon adds a Victorian feeling to the card. I did use all three colors (Rose Pink Royal Blue and Russian Green/Sage ) and all the themes (Rocker Card, Ribbon and a Butterfly) on my card.

A recent challenge at wecraftcards is named “Cool Colors” and required the color scheme plus a CAS design. CAS cards are always hard for me to make as I love layers upon layers and often folds and textures and embellies... and did I mention photo corners?! This card is about as CAS as I get. I loved using cool blues and greens on my card. Plus, the look on the girl's face on the front of the card inspired the sentiment on the inside (It's a freebie I found some time ago but I had never found the right card for it. But... I think I nailed it here! And... in truth, the sentiment rings true to me as I have tipped over when putting on my jeans, socks and... yes... underwear. But I never stay down. Ha!)
Supplies:
· Digi- The Paper Shelter Digital Image (Giselle)

Roll white & silver gel pens

ReplyDeleteLove your bubble bath card Kathy, the bubbles are so convincing! I really like the sentiment that you added too, very cute.
ReplyDeleteThat little kitty on your second card is adorable and you'd done a great job with the colouring. I love the design too, rocker cards always look fabulous.
The final card is your post is beautiful! The image is just lovely and, again, you've done an awesome job with the colouring. I had a little chuckle at the sentiment too.
