Wind and Rain

The current Monday Challenge at wecraftcards is to make a card showing the wind, in honor of March. When looking through my stash for a "windy stamp" I found this gem. Have had it for several decades, but don't use my rubber mounts much anymore so forgot about it. It's hard to read the sentiment, but it says, "From far away, a friendly light."  I didn't have an anchor charm, so I fussy cut one from metallic paper. Eazy Peazy!

The current challenge at CASual Fridays is named "Beautiful Rainbows." For this card, I printed one of the images from Beccy's Place digi set named "Splish Splash" onto a sheet of rainbow stationary. I printed one of the sentiments from the same set, and I cut it in half, dividing the two sections between the front and inside of the card. Found some wonderful enamel dots that look like raindrops in my stash that work beautifully on this card. And a few sparkly stars finish off the inside sentiment beautifully, too.

Used another image and sentiment from Beccy's Place digi set named "Splish Splash" to make this card for the "When Skies are Grey" challenge at Double D's and "Whatever the Weather" challenge at Simon Says Monday. I printed the umbrella girl image onto vellum, mounted it onto background paper with a light grey pattern (you can see it in the close-up), then taped both behind the frame that I upcycled from a wedding card. Mounted the sentiment onto a scrap of sheer ribbon that I tucked behind the frame, with the ribbon's tails extending beyond the edges of the card. Added a few of the raindrop dots to the sentiment strip to add a bit more texture.

  13. I'm very impressed with your anchor "charm" Kathy, it looks awesome! I was amazed to read that you had fussy cut it from a piece of metallic paper. Very clever! The image is fabulous and you've done a great job adding just the right amount of colour.
Both of your rainy day cards are lovely. I like the rainbow background on the first one and the way you've divided the sentiment between the front and inside of the card... great idea. I really love the soft green card stock on the second card, and the way you overlaid the sentiment. Gorgeous!
    Cheers,
    Beccy
