Spring is on it's way!

Made a side step card to showcase this wonderful digi named Charming Spring from The Paper Shelter. The background is made with clouds upcycled from an old calendar and grass scrapbook paper. The bird is held aloft with a strip of acetate that is slid down behind the Printworks sentiment. Am thinking this will be my MIL's Easter card. Am pretty sure it will brighten her day!

The current challenge at Power Poppy is called "Inspired by Fabric." When looking for a fabric that I wanted to try to replicate, this wonderful grape pattern reminded me of a stamp set that I haven't used for a while. Dug out my vintage SU Decorative Grapes set and tan parchment card stock. Stamped the images with several ink pads, then restamped for a second generation image before re-inking the stamp. Used matching stationary weight paper to create an explosion card insert. (I had forgotten how easy they are to make.  And I love the results! Here is a great tutorial- craftsy.com/paper-crafts/article/explosion-card-tutorial/)
Below is the fabric swatch that inspired me and the finished explosion card.

This sweet image was a freebie during the March release at Craftin Desert Diva's FB page. I had fun coloring it up to match their current Mood Board. Am sending this to a friend's 4-year-old who recently got glasses, pretty pink ones just like these! She is not sure that she likes them yet. I'm hoping this card will inspire her to like them!
