myasperations 3-4-23

I've not been on my blog much the last few weeks. But I do have a valid reason. It is grant writing season in my world (I mean in my job!) and over the last three weeks I've spent over 170 hours working on 3 grants. They will provide $250,000 in funding for drug prevention programming at the agency where I work. I have one more to complete and submit by the 15th... then my life should get back to a more normal balance... whatever THAT means! Until then, I'm sharing a few cards that need to get posted a DT responsibility and challenge deadlines.

This DT card is for the first-of-the-month challenge at QKR Stampede. Stop by the challenge, which is always “Anything Goes” and several prizes are awarded. Maybe you’ll be inspired to enter a card or two yourself?
I had fun making this card using a sweet digi and sentiment… plus colorful eggs (fussy-cut from scrapbook paper) and a card from a boxed set I found at Walgreens a while ago.  A fuzzy bunny tail, made from a white pompom, adds some texture.
I’m entering this card into several challenges including The Paper Shelter’s “Dots…” (the eggs and flower centers both contain dogs, plus the dotted Swiss paper on the inside sentiment frame),
Outlawz Tuesday's “Same Old Stuff” (the boxed cards are at least a year old… maybe two, the white pompom and Easter scrapbook paper are from a box of craft treasured I inherited from my sweet Mom in 2012).
Supplies:
·   Digi- Eureka Digital Stamp (Smiling Bunny) Also available in unmounted or cling-mounted
·   Inside Sentiment- Eureka Digital Stamp (Bunny Hugs) Also in unmounted  or cling-mounted

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Card base- Boxed cards from Walgreens Store (12 with envelopes for just $2)

·   Butterfly Sticker- Hobby Lobby

·   All other items from my stash.

One of my favorite challenges is the Butterfly Challenge, partly because the sponsor of this challenge is a sweetheart, plus for each challenge, she provides very easy-to-follow instructions for making a creative fold card. The current creative fold (Corner Pop Up) was new to me, but Mrs. A’s instructions made it a snap (or should I say a pop?!) I found this scrapbook set on sale a while ago and picked it up with this challenge in mind, so was fun to put it to use! My card features three of the Butterfly Challenge colors (Coral, Citron, and Camel) plus two of the themes (Corner PopUp and butterfly)
Supplies:
·   Gold Foil Butterflies are fussy-cut from elegant paper from a Hobby Lobby Scrapbook set
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Front Sentiment Sticker- Hobby Lobby Scrapbook set
·   Inside Sentiment- “Spread Your Wings and Fly” (unknown source)
·   All other items from my stash.

I just had to make another card with this race card-themed digi from All Dressed Up. Again, I appreciated that this digi comes with an attached sentiment and costs just $1.88 (US dollars)! Since the current ADU FB challenge is “Embellish it” I cropped the little race car from the digi and printed a copy to fussy-cut the race car “embellie” for the base of the easel card. Other embellishments are sparkly star stickers which add some bling, plus a bit of slick texture.
Supplies:
·   Easel Card- Instructions found HERE  (Made a vertical card base to add needed height!)
·   Digi (with attached sentiment)- All Dressed Up (3-2-1 Go)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Sparkly stickers- local Dollar Store.
·   Pioneer Black Photo corners- available from several sources
·   Inside Sentiment- Computer Generated
·   All other items from my stash.
