The 15th of the month finds me making a DT card for the challenge at QKR Stampede. Stop by the challenge, which is always “Anything Goes” and several prizes are awarded. Maybe you’ll be inspired to enter a card or two yourself?

For this simple card, I printed two digi sentiments from Eureka Stamps and a butterfly digi that creates a beautiful 3-D image.

This month’s Sheepski Designs FB Challenge theme is “My Favorite Colour” and I had fun creating with Andreas’ beautiful digi named “Clematis Trellis,” coloring the blooms in shades pink, one of my favorite colours! I’ve never seen a Clematis so googled it and the photos I found provided lots of wonderful details. I especially like the fuzzy stamens that I attempted to replicate with liquid pearls. The trellis was made with paper strips. I used an Exacto knife to cut slits into the card front, into which I wove the “trellis.” After positioning them in place, I secured the backside with tape. The finishing touches were delicate little butterfly stickers plus a scrap of antique lace from the box of “treasures” I inherited from my sweet mom.

Back when I was scrapbooking and loved paper piecing, I discovered this on-line source named “Little Scraps of Heaven.” Artist/Owner Tricia Veinot Moore is transitioning to a new shop, so everything at her current shop is on sale. You can nab this little cute and many more for just $1.50.
