Two Holidays & Java

This card was created for a wonderful annual event at Beccy’s Place named the Month of Holiday Cards Challenge (not just Christmas cards, you can make cards for ANY holiday.) This is my third year of participating, and I’m honored to now be a member of Beccy’s DT (called a Contributor!) and also blessed to have a large collection of Beccy’s amazing artwork!
The 8th annual Challenge goes on all month, with drawings for daily challenges, for posting comments, and even random entry numbers!  Stop in HERE to learn more.  Most of the challenges follow an A-Z theme… with a few other topics thrown in to cover all 31 days of November. Today is one of those “other topics” days, namely “Birds and Animals.”
I love this cheeky Llama from one of Beccy’s sets and made him into the focal point on a gate-fold card. I gave the card a Christmas twist by replacing a few of the pompoms on his necklace/collar thingee with jingle bells (created from a paper punch, scraps of silver cardstock, and an ultra fine-point black Sharpie marker.) The sentiment from another of Beccy’s sets provides a perfect fit. Hola holiday fun!
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Incy Wincy Designs Color Challenge (the patterned paper on my card includes all four of the colors- Navy, Gold, Burgundy and Pine.)
Supplies:
·   Digi- Beccy’s Place Digi Set (South of the Border)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Jingle Sentiment (divided into two pieces)- Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Finn’s Bells)
·   Assorted background papers from my stash

Earlier this month I paper-pieced pumpkins with orange and green dotted papers and really liked how they looked when shaded and highlighted. So… I found my leftover scraps and made a few cute little dotted pumpkins. This is the second card I made with one of the pumpkins, plus a vine stamp and a few sentiments.
Supplies:
·   Vine Image- Stampin’ Up wood-mount set (Decorative Grapes) Retired
·   Shaded with Spectrum Noir Classique grey markers and highlighted with a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Cardstock and scraps of patterned paper from my stash
·   Front Sentiment “Thankful”- Freebie from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles
·   Inside Sentiment- Power Poppy Digi Set (Autumns Opulence)

My final post is for a favorite seasonal coffee-themed hop hosted by Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog. This year’s fall & winter hop has oodles of sponsors offering some nice prizes. For my card, I decided to make a coffee cup pocket card using instructions and a template I found on… where else… Pinterest (link is listed in my supplies.) The card was easy to make and will be so fun to share.
Supplies:
·   Instructions and a template for making the cup can be found HERE. Or a link to buy a similar template is HERE.
·   Front Sentiment- TLC Creations Digi Set (Medley of Greetings 1)
·   Inside Sentiment-“But First Coffee” (no longer available, but a similar one in chalkboard format can be found HERE)
·   Assorted background papers from my stash

  1. I LOVE it Kathy! What a great idea to replace the pom poms with Christmas bells! Although I have to say that it would probably drive me crackers to have him parading around with the bells all day long. I love the way you've coloured the image, the practically leaps off the page.
I really like the sweet pumpkins too Kathy, you've done a wonderful job piecing them together. The dotty paper is extra cute.
Your last card is fabulous, especially for those among us who love a good cuppa! Great idea to have the tag slide down inside the cup... very clever!
    Cheers,
    Beccy

  4. What a great image for a Christmas card. I really do need to have a good look through Beccy's non-Christmas images and see what she has there that will work for Christmas.

  7. I am seriously impressed by your jingle bells!!! What a great idea too! The expression on that llama is priceless! He looks like he might feel a little Bah Humbug too. LOL So glad you shared this with us at 2CCC and I hope you'll come back with your next critter creation!
