It's time for another challenge at Penny's Paper
Crafty Challenge Blog where challenges are
always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded from one or more sponsors.
Stop by the blog to check it out!
For this challenge, my DT card
features a wonderful wheelbarrow image from Fred She Said. Although the digi
features flowers, I envisioned using it on a Christmas card and got to work. Decorative chalks, a makeup sponge, and templates cut from paper scraps
helped me create a cloudy sky and snowdrifts and behind the wheelbarrow. Then markers, gel
pens, and an ultra-fine point brown marker added life to the wheelbarrow (I
especially like how the alcohol markers and blender pen helped “age” the
wheelbarrow’s tray and an ultra-fine point brown marker provided the wood grain texture to the handles. After punching a pile of pine boughs, I cut a slit along the top of the wheelbarrow tray and a few across the flowers, then tucked the
pine boughs into these slits, taping them on the underside. Additional pine
boughs were attached with dabs of glue, as needed, to fill in any noticeable gaps.
Patterned papers, black photo corners, a few bows, and sentiments finish off the
card. When finished, I felt that my attempt to use the digi for a Christmas
card was a success!

2020 Anything Goes
The 8th annual Challenge goes on all month, with drawings for daily challenges, for posting comments, and even random entry numbers! Stop in HERE to learn more. Most of the challenges follow an A-Z theme… with a few other topics thrown in to cover all 31 days of November. My entry for Day 4 (the letter “c”) is for “Delicious”! I love coffee, and during the holidays I enjoy pairing Lattes with spicy gingerbread. SO nummy!! A card on Pinterest was the inspiration for my card and a coffee cup from a Beccy’s Place back-to-school digi set worked perfectly as the “O” in Joy! Assorted items from my stamping and scrapping stash finished things off. (I had fun creating a little “charm/tag” for the inside from a scrap of the gingerbread paper used for the letter “J.”)
· Coffee Cup Digi- Beccy’s Place digi set (First Day Jitters)
· Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

I’m busy making
packets of all occasion cards to use as holiday gifts for friends at my office
and church so I’m not yet finished making Halloween cards. This one was really
fun to make as it features an adorable penguin from Scribbles Design. I love
that his name is Brrr- and both front and back images are available. (I did
replace the clock that he holds with a pumpkin that is a freebie at Scribbles.
So fun!) The wonderful eerie forest background and sentiments are also all
freebies. So… this card holds lots of treats with nary a trick in sight!
I’m entering this
card into several challenges including Incy
Wincy Designs Color Challenge (My card includes two of the colors-Navy
and Gold), plus the Day of the Month Challenge named “Make Your Own Head Day.” The blog notes, “The day is
celebrated on November 28th each year and is very popular in elementary schools
and art classes… Just use your brain and make anything you want!! But it
has to be a card or other papercraft item.” I decided that I wanted to make a
window card so that we can see the front and back of dapper Brrr. I also created
a Halloween card by replacing the clock he’s holding with a pumpkin. I’ve heard
that called “extending” an image. I call it being creative!)
