Three Reasons to Celebrate

This second card is my third entry into the wonderful annual event at Beccy’s Place named the Month of Holiday Cards Challenge (not just Christmas cards, you can make cards for ANY holiday.) The first year I participated I think I won $50-$60 worth of Beccy’s wonderful digis. It was so exciting! Now I am honored to be a member of Beccy’s DT (called a Contributor!) and am blessed with a large collection of Beccy’s amazing artwork!
The 8th annual Challenge goes on all month, with drawings for daily challenges, for posting comments and even random entry numbers!  Stop in HERE to learn more.  Most of the challenges follow an A-Z theme… with a few other topics thrown in to cover all 31 days of November. My entry for Day 3 (the letter “c”) is Cups and features a wonderful image from Beccy’s Tea Time digi set. (I actually found a few sheets of images I’d printed of on patterned paper when I created a card with this digi back on 11-24-18 for Beccy’s 6th Month of Holiday Card Challenge!) Note- I have to tell you that I usually enjoy tedious projects, especially those that involve fussy-cutting. But my first attempt at making this card was a bit like putting a complicated puzzle together… which is something I’ve never enjoyed! So I developed a few tricks- including photos instructions- to simplify the process. You can find them HERE at my 2018 post. (You might also enjoy seeing that card as it has a lovely Victorian feeling that is quite different from this version.)
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Christmas Crafts All Year Round-Family and Friends (our holiday gatherings have always  included lots of hot coffee, hot chocolate, and hot buttered rum… which meant we washed lots of cups) and the Stamping Sensations challenge- Garlands, Wreaths and Christmas Flowers (the card background features a Christmas tree, plus sparkly sprigs of holly and evergreen grace the cups.)
Supplies:
·   Image- Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Tea Time)
·   Shaded with Spectrum Noir Classique grey markers and highlighted with a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Front Sentiment- (made into a small tag) Beccy’s Place Digi Set (Here Comes Christmas)
·   Inside Sentiment- “Be Jolly”  was a freebie from LoveSVG. [I signed up for their newsletter and get notices of freebies on a regular basis. Not sure if this is still available, but you can search HERE)
·   Sparkly Foilage Stickers- Hobby Lobby
·   Assorted background papers from my stash

Earlier this month I paper-pieced pumpkins with orange and green dotted papers and really liked how they looked when shaded and highlighted. So… I found my leftover scraps and made a few cute little dotted pumpkins. This is one of them. The vine behind the pumpkin is from a retired Stampin’ Up wood-mount set, and the sentiments are all freebies I received when joining a newsletter a few years ago. Such a pretty little card, don’t you think?
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Bugaboo Stamps- Stella Says Sketch Challenge #817 (I love the corner diagonal and used that as my inspiration, but did move the main image a little toward a corner of the card vs the center.)
Supplies:
·   Vine Image- Stampin’ Up wood-mount set (Decorative Grapes) Retired
·   Shaded with Spectrum Noir Classique grey markers and highlighted with a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Sentiments- RG Ave Fall & Autumn Greetings, Newsletter Freebie (no longer available)
·   Cardstock and scraps of patterned paper from my stash

Word Art Wednesday Challenge- #464-465 Anything Goes

The challenge at wecraftcards Forum named “The Longest Yard” requires that we choose the colors from any NFL football team use them to create a card of any theme (not just sports.) Even though I've from Wisconsin, I chose purple and gold. Not because they are the colors of the Minnesota Vikings (the Green Bay Packers nemesis!)  but because they are the colors of the high school from which I graduated. Several family members still live there so I’ll be sending this card to one of them in the future! I used a cute digi from Bugaboo and a free sentiment from Desert Diva (one of my favorite sites for free sentiments!) Note- the card base is from a set of notecards I picked up at a local thrift store last year. Eight cards for $1. Pretty good deal... and I can use them for more than just Graduation. Any time I want to congratulate someone I have the base to build upon. YAY!
I’m entering this card into several challenges including STAMPlorations Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge: Stamps and Contrast (the little graduate is a digi stamp and the B&W stripes and complementary colors of purple and gold both provide contrast.)
Supplies:
·   Front Digi- Bugaboo Stamps (Boy Graduate)
·   Inside Digi- Grad Cap reduced in size- Beccy’s Place digi set (First Day Jitters)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Inside Sentiment- Desert Diva Freebie (ConGRADulations)
·   Assorted cardstock scraps from my stash
·   YAY card base- Notecards from my stash
