Summer’s Getting Closer

It’s Friday, so time for another challenge at QKR Stampede!  Stop by the challenge, which is always “Anything Goes” and several prizes are awarded. Maybe you’ll be inspired to enter a card or two yourself? This week I decided to fix my mind on the future, or should I say the near future, as my DT card has a summer theme. I love this adorable image appropriately named “Beach Girl.” I had fun creating a touch of realism to the image by coloring the floaty so that you can see the little bathing beauty's silhouette through it. It took a little time and planning but I love the effect. After coloring, I fussy cut the image and adhered it to an upcycled calendar page. I tore a few scraps of parchment into strips and adhered them across the bottom of the page to create the look of sand. The sentiments are computer-generated.  (Note: Prices at Stamp On It are very reasonable (this beach girl digi is just $2 and the stamp is $3.99!) and there is currently a site-wide 10% discount on regular priced items, and free shipping on purchases over $30. Just use discount code WEB2020 at checkout to receive these nice perks!)
I'm entering this card into several challenges including Simon Says Wednesday - Animal Fun (an animal can be fun even if it isn’t real, right?) and  Stamplorations May Theme and Photo Prompt: Stamps and Tropical  (I'd love to be on a tropical beach right now. Or... actually any beach!)

A Perfect Time to Craft 2020-Anything Goes- Challenge #5-2020

A short time ago I won a challenge at Sketch N Scrap.  The prize was wonderful, but what really impressed me is the beautiful hand-made thank you card that came with the prize. I love upcycling cards and knew that I wanted to use this amazing layered work of art, so started watching for an image to showcase. The Paper Shelter’s digi named “Cupcake” is the perfect fit since the little cutie and her adored treat look great perched upon the colorful layers. So fun! (I added a few rhinestone stickers to add even more embellishments and am entering the card into several challenges including The Paper Shelter- Embellishments.)

Polkadoodles Challenge-Week #20 Anything Goes

With all hair salons closed in our state (”non- essential businesses”?!) I'm sporting a nice skunk stripe atop my head. When I saw this free digi I knew that I had to make a card to send to my stylist. It's sure to make her smile… especially because I promised her that I would not color my hair on my own. (I did that once. The results were much less than Ackkkk!)
Note- this digi, and 17 other freebies, were designed as coloring sheets and shared by Artist Nola Chandler on her FB page to help us survive the quarantine. Most made me smile or laugh out loud. A few blessed my heart. You can copy them from Nola’s FB page HERE or, they are also available, along with many other free digis, on the Impression Obsession website (Sign in as a guest or open an account to download them.)
I'm entering this card into several challenges including Bugaboo’s Ladies Night (a few of my girlfriends and I are planning to celebrate with pedicures when we can finally see our stylists again!) and the Impression Obsession Challenge- Mom’s Rule (if anyone deserves a visit with a stylist… and maybe an entire spa day… it’s all the mom’s out there who are doing double or even triple duty right now. I cannot imagine the stress they’ve endured in the last few months. They do rule, and deserve a whole bunch of pampering!)

Supplies:
·    Digi- Freebie Coloring Sheet #5  from Snickerdoodle Studios or Impression Obsessions
·    Colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·    Assorted background papers from my stash
