Moms Day Card

It's Wednesday! So time for another challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge Blog where the challenges are always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded from one or more sponsors.  Stop by the blog to check it out! (pennyschallenges.blogspot.com) This week, I used a digi from our challenge sponsor A Day for Daisies named "Book Time." I colored the sweet image with Spectrum Noir markers and a white gel pen.  The "Hello" sentiment is a freebie that you can find HERE and the inside sentiment is computer generated. I provided the watermarked digi sketch so that you can see that I added some "words" plus simple illustrations to the book. I do love this tender scene!

I love this sentiment stamp from Victorine Originals which easily fills a page with beauty, especially when embossed. After adding a bit of color with Tombow markers, I trimmed the image with decorative scissors then blinged the card up by adhering the image atop metallic gold paper and a smattering of clear glitter.

I have collected several Ching-Chou Kuik digital images and they are so fun to color. One thing I love about digis is that they are so easily resized. For this card, I cropped a beautiful image named "Love Maneki-neko" so that only the woman was showing. I was curious about the digis name, and after a little research discovered that Maneki-neko means "beckoning cat" and is a common Japanese figurine that is believed to bring good luck to the owner. Ooopsie!! I did have fun coloring this image with Spectrum Noir markers and white gel pen. The floral scrap of background paper is upcycled from an old card, and the gold trimmed papers are from an Asian 12x12 paper pack that I picked up recently at Hobby Lobby. The little sentiment on the card front is computer generated. The beautiful scripted greeting on the inside of the card is from a Hero Arts digital set named "Words of Love" available from a2zScrapbooking. You can find it HERE
Am entering this into several challenges including Outlawz Tuesday Color/Photo Inspiration [includes sage green plus pink and red], Outlawz Saturday Challenge "Girly Girl" [this beauty has flowers in her hair, dangling jewelry, and also a dressy dress],  a2zscrapbooking mood board [hearts, red and pink, black and greys in her hair, and cream in the background] and Mod Squad "Spring Flowers" [in her hair and background photo.]

Entering another Birthday card into Scribbles Designs 6th Birthday celebration. I used a technique that I haven't used in years- Bleach Stamping. In the past, I'd embossed an image and then "painted" within the embossed lines with bleach on a thin brush. This time, I made a "bleach pad" with folded paper towels, using instructions that I found HERE and an old wood mount stamp from Denami. The bleached image didn't have quite the contrast I'd hoped for, but when I added a bit of sparkle with Spectrum Noir Metallic Sparkle Pens. The sentiment  on the front of the card is upcycled from an old card and the one on the inside is from a Beccys Place digi set named "Keeping It Simple."

  12. Wonderful cards here and love your coloring. So blessed that you joined our Challenge at Word Art Wednesday and would like to invite you again to link with us at the new challenge that started today. Leaving you with God's Word in 1 John 2:15-17 which says, "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever." Have a blessed and wonderful week.
